CCC Conference Tournament in Atwater

This academic year 2014/2015, I've had the chance to come to the US and to study
Grade 12 at the High School of Merced in California. It has also been a great
opportunity to make physical education classes, training my favorite sport, that is
tennis. These facts are joined positively the fact that my host family is very enthusiastic
and tennis follower. I appreciate a lot that they have enjoyed a lot watching all the
matches I've played in the differents tournaments along the academic year.
During the first half I did tennis training outside school hours in the school tennis courts
and in other tennis clubs of the city of Merced. There are lots of advantages for living in
California, One of them is, of course, good weather, which allows to practice outdoor
sports all year round, even in winter. This is the case of tennis players, we normally play
on outdoor courts.
In April is played the tennis tournament called CCC Conference Tournament , It is
celebrated in the city of Atwater. Our coach encouraged the whole tennis team Merced
High School to participate.
I participated on 28 and 30 April, and I faced the first match against Max Martell from
High School Pitman. After almost two hours finally I won the match with a score of 62, 6-0 for me.
I went to the second round. In my second match I fought against Nick Gianforz of
Pitman, a great opponent at who I ended up winning with a score of 6-0 , 6-1.
The winner of the third round , ie the semifinals , pass to play the final of the
championship. In this opportunity I was faced with a player from the High School of
Turlock , named Ryan Asai , a very strong and very technical player , a great player
whom finally I won with a score of 6.3 and 6-1 after two hours and a half of match.
The last round of the tournament is the final of the competition, who wins the latter
match, wins the championship. In the final match I faced a great player of the High
School of Golden Valley, Cesar Nava, a player with a great track record of many games
and matches won so far. After a highly competitive match by both players I raised with
the victory of the match and of the CCC Conference Tournament as well with a score
of 6-4, 6-4. My coach had a very important role in my victory because he was always
supporting me and giving me very good directions. In most games a great level was
exhibited by the players, who showed good physical form and a high technical level
playing. All matches were played with great sportsmanship and fair play.
It was a great championship, where I could learn much from the good game of all my
opponents. It was very important for me to win the championship and I'm very proud of
the triumph, the same feel my host family and my Spanish family.
