Conclusion

As a conclusion, from the academic visit at the National Archive of Malaysia and
National Library of Malaysia we get a lot of information. In the National Archive of
Malaysia the best practices that have are how to preserve and conserve the
materials, how to find the materials the materials have in the archive.
After that, in National Library of Malaysia the best practices that have been used are
they provide the library section solely for children, smart library, drop books and
activities that related with library. For the children library they provide the electronic
machine like notebooks for children used. For smart library they provide
smartphones and notebooks for searching the information. It can help user search
the information with faster. Another than that, for the drop books, user can send the
books that they borrowed without go to the counter to return the books. It can save
the users time. Lastly, the best practices in National Library they provided activities
for the users such as neither in library or outside. The types of activities that they
provide to user such as program in prison for prisoners. In the prison they provide
the library for the prisoner for search the information and also to gain their
knowledge when they have read the books. So, based on their understanding, the
prisoners can make a reference. For example, there are one of prisoners have get
the chances to further the studies in Degree.
For the lesson learned, National library and National Archive of Malaysia

has

provided the variation of information to help users in complete their task. From the
academic visit, we get the new knowledge, skills and experience. Furthermore, we
had learned through the real situation such as live demonstration from the national
archive and the national library staff. For the example, the staff in National archive
do the demonstration how to preserve and conserve the old materials.
