Basics to Content Manager and Digital Signage

Content Manager is used by the Office of Career Development to organize and send
our videos, advertisements and other information to the many digital screens
across campus, this document should be enough to get you started in learning how
to do this process.
Career Development has future plans for more interactive designs using content
manager, as well as plans for new templates, if any of these directions or
statements become obsolete, please update.

How to place new PDFs into Content Manager

Save PDFs in ContentManager drive within the appropriate folder

(if name is changed after it is placed in folder, it will not work!)

To place into content manager, drag and drop from drive to folder

When Properties pops up make sure name is correct

*Description can stay blank
*Duration: 10 seconds standard
*Pattern: Daily
*Update Interval: 1 hour standard
*Recurrence: Start date
should be current date
*Check box for All Day
*Appropriate end date
should be selfexplanatory OR no end
date and remove
manually
Check Daily

Once this is done, now the PDF should be in the appropriate folder with its settings.
Open the template the flyer was placed in and preview it to confirm that it has been
placed properly.

To make a flyer go to the screens, right click Immaculata and click Deploy

Sometimes content does not work, if it asks to resolve, simply click resolve, if you
see your flyer in the list of issues redo the process.
Removing Content
To delete content, simply right click and delete from folders on the bottom.

Transitions
Right click > transitions
Use Crumble for Main regions and Fade for lower regions

If transition is applied to a PDF on a certain monitor, the other monitors will not receive this update, it
must be done manually.

Career Development Folders

To add flyers to the content manager folder, go to the drive, then go to

Pathways>(semester)
Drag and drop the entire folder which holds the digital signage

Lower template digital signage goes into the Career Development New Template Region 2,
3 & 4
Main template digital signage goes into the Career Development New Template Region 1
Vertical template digital signage goes into the Career Development Vertical

<- Main Template

<- Lower
Templates 1,2,3,4

The correct ordering should give the illusion that they are scrolling from region to
region in order.

The OCD template is where our digital signage is placed

Once a new file is placed in these templates and ready to be uploaded, the order they are
listed in is absolutely crucial, make sure to double and even triple check the order in
which these flyers are playing in

How to order the flyers:

Region 1 if order is 1,2,3,4
Region 2 order must be 2,3,4,1
Region 3 order must be 3,4,1,2
Region 4 order must be 4,1,2,3

When you are finished, rather than doing this same process in each folder over and
over again, simply Ctrl + Left click the folder, Drag and drop into each region, this
will copy the template, rather than recreating it each time

Right Click and remove OLD version of template when you are done copying

And you are done!
