TIME IS ENDLESS
2 O sacrum convivium
O sacrum convivium in quo Christus sumitur:
recolitur memoria passionis eius:
mens impletur gratia:
et futurae gloriae nobis pignus datur.
3 Pater noster
soprano GILLIAN FRANKLIN, NATALIE LEEDER
The day grew dark as the Jews nailed Jesus to the cross,
and at about the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice:
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
And with his head bowed, he gave up his spirit.
Jesus said in a loud voice:
Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.

bq Ave Maria II
Ave Maria, gratia plena. Dominus tecum.
Benedicta tu in mulieribus,
et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Jesus.
Sancta Maria, mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus,
nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen.
br Salve regina
Salve regina, mater misericordiae:
vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra, salve.
Ad te clamamus exsules filii Evae.
Ad te suspiramus,
gementes et flentes in hac lacrimarum valle.
Eia ergo advocata nostra,
illos tuos misericordes oculos ad nos converte.
Et Jesum benedictum fructum ventris tui
nobis post hoc exsilium ostende.
O clemens, o pia, o dulcis virgo Maria.
bt Time is endless
Time is endless in thy hands, my Lord.
There is none to count thy minutes.
Days and nights pass and ages bloom and fade like flowers.
Thou knowest how to wait.
Thy centuries follow each other perfecting a small wild flower.
We have no time to lose,
and having no time we must scramble for our chances.
We are too poor to be late.
And thus it is that time goes by
while I give it to every querulous man who claims it,
and thine altar is empty of all offerings to the last.
At the end of the day, my Lord, I hasten in fear lest thy gate be shut;
but I find that yet there is time.

spent eleven years as Assistant Organist at Wells Cathedral.
At Wells he worked closely with the choir both as
accompanist and choir trainer, appearing with the choir in
concerts and broadcasts all over the world, and can be
heard on many different recording labels including six
discs for Hyperion. His overall discography of some
forty commercial recordings encompasses work as a
choir director, organist, harpsichordist and conductor, and
includes the organ and choral works of Sir Percy Buck
(Priory) and instrumental and choral works of Carson
Cooman (Naxos). Rupert is particularly renowned for his
work in combination with the violin as a member of the
Gough Duo. The Duos many American tours have taken
them all over the USA from Florida to Alaska. They have
made several recordings and during 2009 performed to a
capacity audience in the Svetlanov Hall in Moscow.
Born in 1971, Rupert was a chorister at the Chapels
Royal, St Jamess Palace, and won a scholarship to the
Purcell School. He received (with distinction) a Masters
degree in English Church Music from the University of East
Anglia whilst Organ Scholar at Norwich Cathedral. In 2001
he won Third Prize at the St Albans International Organ
Competition. He has performed widely and featured with
many different orchestras including the Hong Kong
Philharmonic Orchestra during the 2006 Hong Kong
Festival. As a conductor he has worked with a variety of
professional choirs and orchestras, as well as many
distinguished soloists.

Oi a la, a la (Oh, so kalt, so kalt) ist ein bemerkenswertes Beispiel fr sparsamen Einsatz der Mittel: Ein
beschwrend erweitertes Stck ergibt sich aus relativ
wenigen melodischen Fragmenten. Die Wiederholung von
ala mit besonderer Betonung des Sch-Klangs malt die
klirrende Klte des Winters. Diese Struktur endet bei den

Worten Padange nuvito nakti, Pateke.jo zvaigzdes degti
Mikinis geleiteten litauischen Knabenchors Az uoliukas.
O magnum mysterium wurde 2008 anlsslich der
Zehnjahresfeier des slowenischen Kammerchors Ipavska
komponiert.
eingefhrt. Das abschlieende Alleluia beginnt als
feierlicher Refrain, der dann betrchtlich gedmpft
wird und, wenngleich unschlssig, mit einer zweiten
Akkordumkehrung zur Ruhe kommt.
Mikinis hat nicht weniger als sieben Vertonungen
des Ave Maria jeweils in verschiedenen Stimmungen
komponiert. Die zweite, ausgesprochen einfach gehaltene
Vertonung strahlt im ermutigend warmen Optimismus
