Dear Parent Guardian,

My name is Ms. Fuentes and your daughter/son will be in my Digital Media class this
year. I am looking forward to an exciting year. It is my goal to provide all students with an
educationally challenging, yet fun, experience in my classroom.
Sixth grade Computer Literacy demands the best of your student. I will be teaching your
daughter/son how to improve their reading, writing, presenting and thinking skills. In
order to be successful, your daughter/son will be expected to pay attention in class, and
discuss what he/she has learned at home. There will be homework assignments often,
and if students come home without homework, they need to spend at least 20 minutes
each day reviewing notes and vocabulary in their journals, and/or using the interactive
resources I have posted on their Google Classroom.
Attached to this letter is the class syllabus for Digital Media. Please make sure both you
and your daughter/son read the syllabus, and sign the contract. I am available before or
after school to answer any questions you might have, or just to talk about your childs
progress in Digital Media.
I have high expectations of all my students, and I believe your daughter/son deserves
the best education possible. I plan to be in communication with both you, and your
daughter/son about their progress in school. You can expect that I will hold your
daughter/son accountable for the work they complete in class, and I hope to have your
support at home to make sure your daughter/son are putting forth 100% effort.
I will be available to help students individually before school and after school. In addition,
I plan to update you on your daughter/sons progress, as well as important projects,
essays, or tests coming up. Please fill out and return the family contact form included
with this letter.
To learn more about what your child will be learning, I welcome you into our Digital Media
class whenever you are available. I am also available to meet with you to address
specific questions or concerns that you have. I can be reached at (323) 352-8034 or
nfuentes@laalliance.org.
I look forward to meeting you, and to working in partnership with you and your child.
Warmest regards,
Ms. Fuentes
