What did you learn about teaching or learning from this lesson? Discuss your
observation focus, and the theory you have studied in your TESOL classes. Consider
the three levels of teacher reflection (surface, pedagogical, critical). (100-200 words)
He can remember all of students name, which is so good for building a good relationship
between teacher and students. After each student gives a speech, he always gives students
positive feedback to encourage students, even a student is not hit the right answer, he is
smiling to him/her and gives support. All of students can feel in safe and supportive
environment. Before get into listening, teacher didn't give prelistening practice. Maybe he
did in last class, but in textbook section, he asked students to share their learning English
experience, which is prelistening. However, time is up, so I can't get listening and postlistening section. The whole class is good, students work with teacher and partner
smoothly. All of them seem to participate into the class and each students get chance to
speak.

What activities/techniques from this class do you want to remember for your own
teaching practice? Discuss specific ways in which you could apply the techniques and
methods you saw. Discuss your future teaching environment and your students needs
and goals. (100-200 words)
Teacher remembers all of students name and distributes their notes with smile, which is
respect. Students will feel safe and warm from his class. In the class, there are many
Chinese students, he uses culturally responsive to students who feel part of the class. He
is also organized and claim teacher. He mentioned what he is going to teach in this class
and what students have to submit in the next class.
For me, I will follow the task-based listening teaching method, because this is the most
effective method in the world. Students can get top-down and bottom-up skill from
prelistening, that is, teacher gives background of a chapter that students are going to
learn, then teacher can teach some specific or important vocabulary that emerge in
listening.
