INSTRUCTION
Students are required to form a group which consists of 4 5 members. Each group needs
to find one organization based on your interest. However, you must ensure that the
organization that you choose did not overlap with the other group. Students must write a
report based on your understanding from the lesson learned in the class. Towards the end of
the semester, each group needs to present their ideas and findings to the rest of the class.

CONTENTS OF THE REPORT/GUIDELINES

A. Introduction
Explain the background of the organization
i. Name of the firm/business
ii. Location
iii. Products & services
B. Planning
Identify and explain the firms Mission statement, goals, strategies used by the firms
for long-term direction
C. Organizing
Identify the firms Organizational structure and explain the organizations chain of
command, span of control, line & staff responsibilities and types of departmentalization
D. Leading
Identify the leadership approach used by the manager in making sure that your
employees are working towards achieving the goals of his/her organization. Relate your
answer with any leadership theories
E. Control
Describe the control methods adopted by firms (pre-action control, steering control,
screening control and post-action control)
Come out with examples of the controlling activities that take place in any of the firm
department (Planned performance (target), actual performance and correction action
being taken)
F. Conclusion
Explain what you have learned from the discussion with your group members.
