DATE & TIME

Every Thursday, July through August, 10:00 to 11:00 AM
LOCATION
23rd Street Lawn, on the High Line at West 23rd Street

Itinerary
If you had one day in NYC I would plan the day like this:

AM

Early doors head to midtown and go up the Rockefeller Tower

Walk up to Central Park via Bryant Park and grab breakfast somewhere. Look out
for The Plaza Hotel (the one from Home Alone 2). The zoo is also in the park, but
youve only got a day so move along.
Get the subway to the East Village and get out at St Marks Place. Its a bit like
Camden. Walk around there for a bit and check https://twitter.com/philssteaks for
the food vans location to grab a Philly Cheesesteak for lunch, or head to Katzs
Deli.

PM

After lunch jump in a cab to the South Street Staten Island Ferry terminal, get on
the FREE ferry and take photos of the Statue of Liberty.
Get the return ferry back to Manhattan (no need to hang around Staten Island).
Walk through the Financial District (Fi-Di, Wall Street) and head to the South Street
Seaport. Theres great views up the East River (Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges)
plus a decent market and bars.
From there jump in a cab over to the Chelsea Piers and just below 13 th Street there
is access to The Highline. At this spot there is also a cool German bar (Biergarten
at The Standard Hotel). You can play ping pong outside while having a drink and
bite to eat. Then walk the Highline northwards and get off at 26th Street.
Walk two blocks west, towards the Hudson, and youll come across The Frying Pan
its a boat bar. Great for an afternoon beer.
By now itll be quite late, if youre hungry get the subway to China Town and go to
Vanessas Dumpling House for the best dumplings youll ever have.
If its getting dark by now get the PATH train to Hoboken and walk to Pier C in New
Jersey where you get a fantastic view of the Manhattan Skyline.
You could then get a cab over to Brooklyn, which is a bit of a trek, but worth it. Go
to Maison Premiere then walk down Bedford Avenue theres loads of bars - and
find a subway station to get back into the city.
Now you go to Midtown and a rooftop bar called 230 Fifth. You stare straight at the
top of the Empire State Building. Have a cocktail above the city there then get the
subway over to Greenwich Village and a Jazz bar called Fat Cats. I love this place.
Stay there for a while, play pool or Shuffleboard or ping pong with beers and jazz
music then get a cab to McSoreleys.
Get drunk and grab a couple slices of pizza later on. Rocket Joes on Delancey
Street is first class pizza slices but theyre all much the same.
Bedtime.
