SUN-EARTH-MOON SYSTEM
BACKGROUND PROBLEM
CONDITION
IDEAL CONDITION
CURRENT CONDITION
Weather changes
happen
unpredictably and
the changes doesnt
follow the seasonal
changes that
happens
People find it hard to
predict the weather
PURPOSE OF THE
PROJECT
Our purpose of the project is to help the wheat
crops and field in United Kingdom to prevent
agricultural damage from happening
To help the farmers predict the weather easily
PROJECT FOCUS
QUESTION:
How to predict weather and seasonal changes to
help wheat crops in United Kingdom by observing
sunspots?
BIG QUESTION:
What are the causes and effects of structural
changes?
THEORIES
EFFECT
During one half of
earths orbit, the north
end is facing towards the
sun, thats when spring
and summer happen
The south end doesnt
face towards the sun,
which means that
autumn and winter
happen
During the other half of
earths orbit, the
opposite will happen
EFFECT OF PHENOMENA
POSITIVE
NEGATIVE
DESCRIPTION OF THE
PROBLEM
Agriculture damage often happens especially in
the wheat crops in United Kingdom
This problem is caused by an extreme,
unpredictable weather and seasonal changes
The weather changes is supposed to follow the
seasonal changes
This problem can lead to drought and harvest
failure for the wheat crops
EXISTING SOLUTION
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
(NOAA) s website of sunspot prediction for every
month from 2015 until 2019
http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/predicted-sun
spot-number-and-radio-flux
OUR SOLUTION
The amount of sunspots can help us too see if the
solar activity in the sun is increasing or if there
are less solar activity
The solar activity in the sun can affect the
weather on earth
Create a mobile telescope that can help observe
sunspot around United Kingdom
Mobile telescope can easily travel around different
areas in United Kingdom
Then it can share the information or data to the
wheat farmers all around United Kingdom so that
they can plan the harvest of the wheat crops
EFFECTIVENESS OF
SOLUTION
The solution that we propose if effective because
we observe the sunspot directly instead of just
predicting it
We also decided to make it a mobile telescope so
that if the sun if blocked (such as if solar eclipse
happen) the mobile telescope can go to other
areas that can observe the sun
The mobile telescope can also give or share the
information / data that they got right away to the
wheat farmers
CONCLUSION
ANSWER TO FOCUS
QUESTION
We can observe sunspot to help predict the
weather changes in the earth
The amount of sunspots indicated the solar
activity that is happening in the sun
The solar activity can affect the weather on earth
If there are less amount of sunspot, that means
that there are less solar activity, which means
that the weather on earth will be cold
If there are lots of sunspots, that means that the
solar activity is increasing, which means that the
weather on earth will be warm/hot
Therefore observing the sunspot can help us to
predict the weather on earth
ANSWER TO BIG
QUESTION
The changes of weather and season is caused by
the orbit of earth around the sun, and because of
earth is tilted, different part of the earth gets
different amounts of the suns energy
The changes of weather and season can have
positive and negative effects to the earth
The suns energy/heat can give positive effect to
the earth such as helping the plants to grow and
help animals and human to get enough heat for a
living
But during the cold season, some parts of the
earth doesnt get enough heat, which can lead to
lack of resources
ANSWER TO BIG
QUESTION
Sunspot is caused by the magnetic field of the sun
which flows up to the photosphere which is the
suns surface
Those magnetic fields in the sunspot give rise to
explosions, or known as the solar flares
Depending on the amount of sunspot and solar
flares, the solar activity happening can be less or
can be increasing
The amount of sunspot can change everytime
The solar activity (solar flares) can affect the
weather on earth
