FRANCE
There are so many countries I could have chosen to research; however, I have always
been interested in visiting the France. I always wanted to visit France, because of how exotic it is.
I want to find out about their culture, and different landmarks

GOVERNMENT
France, officially known as the French Republic, is ruled according to the Constitution of
the Fifth Republic, which came into force in 1958 under Charles de Gaulle (the First Republic
was founded in 1792 after the Revolution).

LOCATION
France is located in Western Europe above Spain. It is the second largest country in
Europe.

CURRENCY
Frances currency is the Euro. 1 Euro is equal to 1.12 U.S dollars.

TOURISM
If you visit France you can go see the Eiffel Tower, or the Cathedral in Notre Dame. You
can also go to Disneyland in Paris. You could go see Mount Blanc, which is one of the worlds
most dangerous mountains. You can go see the Notre-Dame de la Garde in Marseille, France.
You can also see the Verdon Gorge in south-eastern France. The Verdon Gorge is a river canyon
that is often considered to be one of Europe's most beautiful canyon.

FAMOUS LANDMARKS

A famous landmark is the Mont Saint Michael Abbey is located within the city and island
of Mont-Saint-Michael in Lower Normandy. You can also go to the Parc du Futuroscope. The
theme park is based upon multimedia, cinematographic futuroscope, and audio-visual
techniques.

FLAG
The national flag of France is a tricolor featuring three vertical bands colored blue, white,
and red. Its known to the English as the French Tricolor, or just the Tricolor.

POPULATION
The population of France is estimated at 64,641,279 as of July 1, 2014. France's
population is equivalent to 0.89% of the total world population. France ranks number 21 in the
list of countries by population.

LANGUAGE
88% of the population speaks French. 3% of the population speaks German.

CULTURE (style of dress/religion)


Historically, French culture was in influenced by Celtic and Gallo-Roman cultures, as
well as the Franks, a German tribe. France was initially defined as the western area of Germany
known as Rhineland but it later came to refer to a territory that was known as Gaul during the
Iron Age and Roman era. Catholicism is the predominant religion in France. 64% are Roman
Catholic. 7.5% are Muslim. Pew estimated that the Jewish population was 310,000; there were
280,000 Buddhists and 30,000 Hindus. Nearly 18 million people practiced folk religions, "other"
religions or no religion ("unaffiliated").

One food is a dessert called the Chocolate Souffl. Its a crispy chocolate crust with a soft
creamy chocolate filling. Another one is a Chocolate Mousse Cake. Its a chocolate cake with a
chocolate mousse filling. One more dessert is Little French Fudge Cakes. They are gooey, little
intense little chocolate mini cakes.

FAMOUS PEOPLE FROM FRANCE


A famous person from France is Coco Chanel. Coco Chanel was a French fashion designer, and
the founder of the Chanel brand. Another famous person is Andr the Giant. Andr the Giant was a
French professional wrestler and actor. One more famous person is Catherine Deneuve. Catherine
Deneuve is a French actor who gained recognition for her portrayal of aloof, mysterious beauties for
various directors
