Cantate Domino in Bb- Psalm 96

I composed this piece for KC Clover, the female choir whose members are the graduates of Kobe College in 2010. Then never did I

think such an unprecedented disaster

as the

Great East )apan Earthquake would occur within a few months shortly after the first

performance in November. After the catastrophe, "Sing for Japan," a project calling for donations to those affected by the massive
earthquake and tsunami, -was launched in America and I offered this song as one of the works to campaign for thc project. The song
was

originally written for the vocal group which is now active in the once damaged area by the Great Hanshin Awaji Earthquake. And

the very same song choirs all over the world sang again, praying for the speedy recovery from the Great East ]apan Earthquake.

Naturally fapanese choirs

well as overseas choirs sang this song, prayed for disaster victims, and donated for support in

reconstructing the earthquake-hit area. Touched by their tenderness and generosity, I realized that the very power ofa song could
make the world into one and was moved so
