Marketing Minor


Fall 2014
MAR3023 Marketing-
This course was an introduction to the different elements of marketing and how they
are applied within each market. The most valuable piece of knowledge I gained from
this course ultimately was how to be a more educated consumer.

MAR3721 Digital Media Marketing-
During this course I put together a social media marketing campaign for a company
called Devil Glove that was just starting up. I learned the key components to a
successful marketing campaign and the ways to reach desired demographics.

ADV3008 Principles of Advertising-
Through out this course I learned the fundamentals of what makes a successful
marketing campaign, who the key players are, the many types of mediums and also
their desired targeted audiences. By the end of this course I had a few advertising
posters I had assembled.


Spring 2015
MAR3391 Professional Selling-
Possibly one of the most difficult yet rewarding courses I have taken to date. I obtained
so much useful knowledge on how to be an honest yet successful sales person.
Performed a role-play for our final grade, which was comprised of the sales process we
had learned all semester long.

MAR3503 Consumer Behavior-
This course was beneficial to understanding the buying patterns of different
demographics and how to use marketing research to predict future buying habits. At
the end of this course I had produced many surveys and projects for different
companies and obtained data for future consumers.

MAR4231 Retailing Management-
Throughout this course myself, and a team of others, developed our very own brick and
mortar boutique. We created our own branding, demographics, location, and even had
a mock store opening for our final project to show case our boutique in Winter Park.





Fall 2015
MAR4715 Entertainment Marketing-
This is a current course I am enrolled in. The primary assignment that will be created
by the end of the term will be a multimedia marketing campaign for a local music
store called Park Ave. Cds. It is a group project so which is developing my group work
strengths which I will need to demonstrate in the real world.

Interdisciplinary Studies Core Curriculum



Spring 2014
IDS3933 Cornerstone Experience-
Through out the cornerstone experience I learned what the many different elements
that define the Interdisciplinary major. I was taught the different terms used and how
to conduct research as an Interdisciplinarian would.

Fall 2015
IDS4934 Capstone Experience-
This is a course I am currently enrolled in. So far we have covered the research process
of interdisciplinary studies and are beginning to conduct a research paper with the
information given. Volunteering for a nonprofit is also on the course outline.

Arts

Fall 2010
ART2701 Sculpture-
Different mediums used to create sculptural design. Studied the human form and even
made a human bust out of wet clay that was then fired and glazed.

ART2400c Printmaking-
Through out this class I learned different etching techniques which various materials.
Some of the materials were wood, chemicals, and plexiglass. After the etching process
you then run your stencil through a printing press.

Spring 2011
PGY2401 Photography-
Introduction to the human mind and the theories based around the way people think
and react to different situations. Discussed the different parts of the brain and which
part is responsible for each emotion, feeling, and personality traits.

ART2752 Ceramics-
Wheel throwing techniques and hand building with clay. An experimentation with
different types of glazes and high firing was also in the course outline.

Fall 2013
ARH2050 History of Western Art-
Obtained an overview of knowledge of the different Western Art forms and how the led
to the progression of artists today. Through out the course I wrote many papers on
different artists that influences each time period.

FIL3817 The American Film Artist-
A course dedicated to the amazing director Martin Scorsese. Each class period we
watched a different film of his and conducted a study on his artistic style as a
filmmaker.

PHP2040 Studio Photo-
Obtained a basic understanding and knowledge of studio lighting techniques such as
flash and natural lighting. The use of strobes and metered were introduced.

Communication

Fall 2014
PUR400 Public Relations-
I learned the different practices of managing the spread of information between an
individual or an organization. Some of these organizations can include business,
government agency, or nonprofits.


VIC3001 Visual Communication-
This course taught me the different types of colors, symbols, patterns, etc. that evoke
particular types of feelings in consumers and the background behind brands. It also
covered the media and the ways it is used for good and bad.

Spring 2014
COM3003 Exploring Human Communication-
This course was an overview to the different types of communication theories that are
studied within this major. It gave an introduction to most of the courses I would be
taking in the future.


Spring 2015
COM4014 Gender Issues in Communication-
The most interesting course at the University of Central Florida that I had the pleasure
of taking. Not only did I learn the differences in the ways males and females
communicate but also that we from a young age we start to develop these gender
norms.



Fall 2015
COM4461 Intercultural Communication-
The base of this course is to learn the proper ways for communicating across cultures
and the fundamentals to respecting others cultures though they way be vastly different
from our own.

General Education

Fall 2011
ENC1101 English 1-
Was taught the principles of pre-writing, organizing, revising, and editing essays that
were assigned. Slowly began to adapt my own type of writing style, which I still use
today.

SPC1608 Public Speaking-
Basic introduction to public speaking and the dos and dont of preparing an
informative yet entertaining speech. Ended the course with a video recorded speech
delivered in front of the class.

MGF1106 Liberal Arts-
This course was an introduction to the many different theories and formulas used in
everyday mathematics. This course covers many mathematical skills including
systematic counting and probability, statistics and geometry.

REL2300 World Religion-
An overview of the many world religions that are practiced all over the globe and a
demonstration of how each is slightly based of one another. Some religions include
Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Sikhism, etc.

Spring 2012
ENC1102 English 2-
Expanding my knowledge of writing and rhetorical skills. This class had much
emphasis on writing literary analysis and creating bibliographies for such work.

AMH2020 American History-
This was an American History course that covered the history of the United States from
the Reconstruction to the present. It highlighted on the emergence of the United States
as a world power and the industrialization.

ARH2051 Art History-
Survey of development of visual art forms from prehistory through the Middle Ages.
This course really expanded my knowledge of religion as well.




Fall 2012
ECO2013 Microeconomics-
Studied the behavior of individuals and firms in making decisions regarding the
allocations of limited resources. I was introduced to the use of microeconomic
applications to address problems in current economic policy.

PSC1121 Physical Science-
An elementary course that studied the physical laws that govern the universe, and
characteristics of matter, including the changes it undergoes. A lot of emphasis was
put on the SI systems used in scientific measurements.

SPN1121 Spanish and Culture 1-
This was a beginners level Spanish course where I learned basic vocabulary and
cultural terms. Through out this course I demonstrated my knowledge of the language
through oral presentations and written exams.


Spring 2014
CGS1060 Introduction to Computers-
Introductory course to the history of computers, typical computing, number systems,
control and data flow, and website creation. Through out this course I worked with
many software programs such as excel, word, and other software for developing
websites.

ANT2511 Human Species-
This course consisted of the study of the human as a biological and cultural animal.
Some of the theories covered though out this course were evolutionary adaptions and
the human place in ecological system.

SPN1122 Spanish and Culture 2-
The second part to beginners Spanish where I expanded my knowledge of the
language with expanding my vocabulary and reporting on different Spanish
speaking cultures. An overview of different Spanish speaking cultures.
