night.

II.Howthemoonwascreated
Oursolarsystemwasjustforming,rocks,gassesandplanetswereflying,outofcontrol,
allovertheplace.Earthwasjust
formingalso,nottheoneweknow
todaythough.
HadeanEra,
agiant
asteroidaboutthesizeofmars,was
headingtowardsEarthatextreme
speeds.ItsnamewasTheia,and
whenithit,thecollisionwasso
greatitknockedtonsofdebrisinto
Earthsgravitationalpull.Earth
survivedbutTheiawasdestroyedbytheimpact.Overtimethedebrissurroundingearthbeganto
clumptogetheruntilonlyonepiecewasleft,TheMoon.Thisisthemaintheoryforhowthe
moonwascreated.

III.HadeanEra
Beforetherewasevenlifeandbeforeweknewearthaswaterandlanditwaslava.
Magmaengulfedallofearthnotonesinglesweatjustfire.Aworldwhereonceenteredinthe

atmosphereyouwillbedisintegrated,turnedintoashes.ThisworldwasnamedafterHades,god
ofdeath/underworld,fortheobviousreasons.
Itwasabout4.6Billionyearsagowhenthe
worldwaslikethis.TheEarthwasjust
formingandmostlyconsistedofmagma.
Globaltemperaturesareestimatedtohave
beenbetween30and50C.(122f).Levels
ofatmosphericoxygenaround1%.Asyou
cansee,thisplanetwasbasicallyhell.

IV.Moon
Inaveryrealsense,itwillnotbeonemangoingtothemoonitwillbeanentirenation.

becausethemoonrotatesatthesamerate
whichtheearthrotates,causingthesamesidetoalwaysfaceawayfromtheearth.
V.LunarEclipse
Alunareclipseiscausedbythemoon'spositioningbehindtheearthsothattheearth
obstructsthesun'sraysfromstrikingtheMoon.Thisoccurswhenthesun,earth,andmoonare

alignedexactly,orverycloselyso,withtheearthinthecentre.

VI.PhasesoftheMoon
So,themoon'sphasesarenotcausedby
theshadowoftheEarthfallingonthe
moon.InfacttheshadowoftheEarthfalls
onthemoononlytwiceayear,whenthere
arelunareclipses.Phasesofthemoonare
causedbytwothings,thedirectionwhich
themoonisfacingthesunandthe
directionthemoonisfacingtheearth.
Letsstartwithanewmoon,themoons
backisfacingthesunbutthefronthasno
sunlightsoitappearstobenomoon.Than
fullmoonhasfullsunlightonthefront
soweseethewholething.

VII.Tides
Tidesarecausedbythegravitationalpullofthemoonandsun.Therearelowtidesandhigh
tides.Alowtide
placesbecomedrywithpuddles,wherefishhavelaideggs,crabsandallsortof

edgecreaturesmovearound,andtherearemanybirdsAndbirddroppings,theworldonthe
edgehasmoveddown.Hightidethisplaceisnowcoveredwithwaterandfishareswimming
intothisspacewhichisnowrichwiththegarbagethelowtidevisitorsleftbehind.
