Dear Abbey and Bing Woo,
Greetings from Animas High School in Durango Colorado my name is Garnet Smith and
I have solved your cookie dilemma. I will be explaining to you why my answer works and how
all of your constraints fit it. I believe the total amount of money you can make considering your
constraints is $212.50. You can achieve this amount by making 50 Iced Cookies and 75 Plain
Cookie. By creating inequalities for each of your constraints I was able to plug the numbers 50
and 75 cookies into each. The following constraints you mentioned, dough, time, space, and
icing, I created inequalities for dough P+.7I110, time .1P+.15I15, space P+I140,
and icing .4I32 When plugging the cookie amounts 50 and 75 into each
inequality they all work! Dough 110110, time 1515, space 125140 and icing
2032. I also created a small equation for your profit based on your cookie
prices, profit 1.5P+2I=Profit. When plugging 50 and 75 cookie amounts into the equation you
get $212.50=Profit. Basically by making 50 iced and 75 plain cookies you will make $212.50
and satisfy all of your cookie amounts. Hopefully this answer and letter can help you in your
future cookie endeavors.
Sincerely,
Garnet Smith
