Argument: Is police brutality against black increasing in America?

Against
For Argument
1. Wall street journal recently
brought up an Article that shows
the increase of protestors due to
the deaths of Michael brown and
other incidents, it states Many
of the young people who have
taken to the streets around the
U.S. in Ferguson-related protests
vow to turn the rallies against
police brutality into a movement
that will last long beyond this
week.(Valerie). The racial
discriminations has slowly been
increasing causing a war on
blacks movement which has not
been seen since mid-1900.
2. Xinhua News Agency stated
Their police superiors, city
officials and the Justice
Department fail to act decisively
to restrain or penalize such acts
or even record the magnitude of
the problem, police brutality is
being ignored by government
officials, a recent example would
be the case of Walter Scott a
black male shot in the back by
officer Michael Slager and killing
him, yet being trialed innocent
by the grand jury, The police
brutality on blacks grows and is
being ignored by officials.
3. Police brutality has become a
central piece of media coverage
in the U.S. this year stated CNN
covering the recent deaths of
several black males. The war on
blacks has blown social media
and news across the country
recently the issue has caused
great attention and spurred
several movements.

Against Argument
1. The Atlanta journal publicized
that Despite the uncomfortable
spotlight Brown's death has
trained on the Atlanta Police
Department, records show
citizen complaints of excessive
force by city officers have
dropped since 1997 the recent
events have recently sparked
the attention due to the
technology and social media we
have available, yet the numbers
show that police brutality has
dropped since late 1990s.
2. L.A. Times publicized a report
stating Overall, the LAPD
reported a 27% increase in
violent crime and a 12% rise in
property crime through March
21 compared with the same
period last year. Media has
shown the brutality on blacks,
causing the movement to spur
yet what many people dont see
is the crime rise happening and
the many officers whose lives
are taken while on call. Is it
really that police brutality is
rising or the crime rate is rising?
3. Some lawyers contend that
frequently the only charges filed
against brutality victims is
resisting arrest. Written by LA
times, like many things theres
two sides to a story. Police
brutality often occurs when
resisting arrest. Not neglecting
the existence of the brutality in
todays society, while it is
present, many fail to notice
whether it was police brutality
or resisting arrest the cases are
always different.
