Description
This site is an archive of government findings
on the effect that technology has in the
classroom. It is run by the U. S. Department of
Education, and open to public view so that the
general public can be more aware of what is
going on in schools. That being said, the
audience of the site is that general public, as
well as some politicians, so that everyone will
be more knowledgeable.
This information is useful to me because, as a
future high school teacher, I will be working
with some of the most tech savvy youths of our

day. In order to keep their interest (as one of the

sites findings reports) I need to know more
about technology and its effects so that I can
properly engage my class.
http://www.edutopia.org/blogs/tag/classroom This is a sort of education social media that
-technology

allows teachers to network with each other and

discuss their classroom technologies. It does
this by having them both dialogue with one
another and share resources to help each other.
As such, the audience is the same as the main
contributors: teachers. The main ways this
sharing is done is through links to videos and
articles, as well as the actual discussion itself.
As a teacher, it will be important for me to be
able to discuss with other teachers. This
resource allows me to mot only speak to
teachers outside of my immediate vicinity, but

also gives me access to resources I can use to

improve my teaching.
This is an article posted on Forbes. Forbes is
one of the leading resources (though somewhat
of a popularized one) on the modern world of
business. Though it focuses on business, the
audience includes teachers and students alike.
The author of the article, Jordan Shapiro is a
professor at Temple University, where he writes
part of their core curriculum for reading,
writing, and the like.
This information and critique of the current
technological trends are important to me
because it not only points out the flaws, but
offers solutions. As teachers, we will find many
flaws in a thing, but often dont know how to
fix it. This offers a solution, albeit to a very

specific problem.
This interview with teachers was conducted by

the school system to learn what technologies

were implemented in the classrooms. While

dated (2008), it is no less of a useful resource. It
was conducted to form a record of classroom
practices, but is easily made into a useful list of
various technologies that teachers can
implement.
I would use it as a sort of cheat sheet for
technology. Many of the specific technologies
are old and rather dated, but the concept behind
most of them is still very alive. For instance the
search engine. It is still very much in use and
will likely never fade out. Other technologies
have only been improved upon as the years
went on. So this interview makes for a great

guide for classroom technologies and

implementations.
This is a compilation of various items from SC
Schools. The target audience is teachers, so as
to inform them about policy and law. Things
like ADA and other government programs for
those with need are all outlined there.

As a teacher, I need to know things like this.
Policies, especially federal policies, are
knowledge that is so important to me as a
teacher. I need to know what Im doing in order
to close the gap for my students.
http://www.usnews.com/education/technolog This is a collection of articles by U. S. News
y-in-the-classroom

about technology in the classroom. They are all

aimed at the general public for their greater
knowledge. These articles cover things from the
use of YouTube in college classes to the
implementation of iPads. It also has some tips.

The reason it matters to me is that it is a more

popularized take on it. This is the kind of thing
that the parents and consequently the students
will be exposed to. So, in addition to having
pertinent information, it also allows me to see

what my all important people see.

This is an article that offers various reasons for

s-of-technology-in-the-classroom/

the incorporation of technology in classrooms.

This is aimed at teachers, giving them a guide
for how and why they should make use of
technology. From the engagement of both
student and teacher, and the preparation of
students for the real world, their reasons are
solid.
It matters to me because, as a future teacher, it
matters to me, not only the reasons why, but
also the how. I need to know so that I can know

for myself, as well as defend myself should I be

questioned as to my reasoning.
This article is about various technologies that
are useful for educators. It explains the
technology and how it functions. Also, it
provides links to the educational technologies

so that teachers can make use of them.

This is a list I may very well make use of
directly. The technologies are helpful and many
are free. This list provides a great number of

things that I plan to use in my classroom.

This article is on various apps for teachers to
use to aid in their instruction. Scholastic being
among the most used and reputable resources
for books and education, these apps come well
recommended.
These apps will be of great use to me as a
teacher. I can use them to instruct my students,

as well as have them use it for their own

enrichment.
Sophia is a resource for use in flipped
classrooms. They provide lessons for the
students to do. The teachers can then use these
self-paced lessons and teach based on the
material. The credit earned will even transfer

over to a school Sophia has partnered with,

should you be a student working on your own.
As a teacher, I may be able to use this. I would
(assuming the principal allowed) use it to help
my students maximize their class time. I would
love to see it put to good use in my class.
