work the sexual abuse is of great importance is problematic because it affects not only
adults, but also children, where there are not only affect on a personal level but also at the
family level.

of the damages, and the strengthening of links protectors, as also to respond, to the
suffering that this problem produces in people, as it is also important to identify factors
and elements that influence this problem.

THEORETICAL FOMEWORK:

The following conceptual referents help us to understand the approach of the tem.

Social Work: "Social Work is a form of social action, understanding by social action: any
conscious activity, organized and led, either individual or collective, so expressed aims act
on the social environment, to maintain a situation, to improve it or to transform it"
(Anderegg, 1996). Then, we can say that the social work seeks to promote the exchange of
people and their time of society in general, improving the relationships with each other, in
order to strengthen the collective well-being, and the positive development of the person
and its context. It is important to bear in mind that we need to know about the problem,
which affects both the individual and the different systems that surround him; and to
understand the reality.

Child Sexual Abuse: One of the more complete definitions of childhood sexual abuse
(A.S. I.) is developed by the National Center of Child Abuse and Neglect (NCCAN).
According to the American federal agency, includes "the contacts and interactions between
a child and an adult, when the adult (the aggressor) uses the child to stimulate sexually the
same, the child or another person.

Sexual abuse is defined in terms of two major concepts: the of coercion and the age
difference between aggressor and victim. "The coercion (with physical force,
coercion or deception) must be considered by itself sufficient criterion for a conduct
is labeled a sexual abuse of minors, regardless of the age of the aggressor". The
difference of age prevents true freedom of decision and makes impossible a
common sexual activity, already that participants have experience, degree of
biological maturity and very different expectations. "This asymmetry is in itself a
power that vitiates any possibility of equal relationship".

In this text we're going to try some aspects related to child abuse. The aim is to understand
the problem to be able to act wisely in our professional practice, taking into account that in

definition of child abuse, forms, indicators and effects.

position of power and superiority of the adult person. We'll look at some alternatives for
prevention, as well as guidelines that can help us useful to meet and referral to victims of
abuse.
