I was President of my high school for two years and have been a part of student government since 3rd grade.
2013 AMERICAN LEGION BOYS NATION DELEGATE
The summer before my senior year I attended American Legion Boys State and out of 750 boys at VA Boys State, I was selected through an interview process to go onto to BOYS NATION where 2 boys from every state come together in Washington, D.C and form a mock Federal Government. Through this experience, I met President Obama in the White House, met with my congressional representative, Bob Goodlatte. Christopher Newport University Student Assembly Delegate Beginning in my first year at CNU, I was elected as the representative of my residence hall to CNUs governing body, Student Assembly.
CAPTAIN OF VARSITY LACROSSE TEAM
I was elected Captain of my varsity team my Junior and Senior Year of High School
LEADERSHIP/ SKILLS
I have spoken in front of crowds 500+ at campaign rallies
across the State. For the past two years I have introduced candidates such as George Allen and his wife at functions around Charlottesville and Lynchburg, VA My experience in the Christopher Newport University Student Assembly and my role as Student Body President in High School has prepared for the challenges of leading a large group of followers towards a common goal. These experiences have confirmed in me a desire to lead and to lead effectively as a statesman, with virtue, prudence, and justice.
My goal is to be a member of the United States Senate
representing the Commonwealth of Virginia. I have a passion for limited, constitutional government and I feel that I am already preparing myself to lead my country in this capacity. I am currently sitting on the legislative affairs committee on the CNU Student Assembly, in which we are keeping the assembly accountable to the Constitution of the School and amending the Constitution where absolutely necessary to further ensure compliance. In addition, as President of my Student Body in High School I made it my goal to bring my Schools Student Senate back into the constraints set by the Schools Constitution. Previous Student Body Presidents had actually forgotten about the Constitution and lost an electronic copy completely. The Constitution had to be typed back out from its physical form into electronic form so that the Student Senate could comply where possible and amend where necessary. Both of these experiences have fueled my passion for Constitutional government and it has taught me the necessity of having leaders dedicated to holding governments accountable to their founding documents. I was born and raised on a Farm so I possess unique technical skills through learning how to work hard and get my hands dirty to get the job done. Working on a farm has taught me a work ethic that I hope to put to work in any organization.
