Dear Red Dirt Report:
My name is Alyssa Higgins and I am very interested in applying for
your job opening as a Freelance Writing Intern. I believe that I have just
the right skills in order to succeed in this position.
The summer before this years fall semester, I was chosen as a
Neustadt Fellow at the University of Oklahoma. A select number of
students, both undergraduates and graduates, were chosen to write
various written responses on the works of this years Neustadtt Festival
jurors after critically reading and analyzing their works of literature.
During this time, I was able to critically read and write in order to
adequately analyze certain texts.
Since the beginning of this years fall semester, I continue to contribute
articles and maintain my our personal WordPress blog entitled His
Daughter. Within it, I write a variety of blog posts weighing heavily on
themes such as grief and faith. Through these posts, I utilize and
express myself through my autobiographical/creative non-fiction
writing style.
