Robert Oppenheimer
Caption: This letter was written to the director of the Los Alamos secret lab to
congratulate and caution the work Oppenheimer has put forth. President Roosevelts
main concern is the security of this highly secretive operation, in which should not be
taken lightly. Roosevelt urged Oppenheimer to take even more precautions on his
employees knowledge of the project; otherwise the confidence of this district and of
the war may be terminated.
