Title
Sexual violence around the country has become a topic of major concern that has
happened over the past few years. With changes to the way that we handle and prosecute those
who are offenders of these crimes there look to be a sure sign of the time changing and that these
act will become less and less frequent. In this discussion we will go through some evaluations
and proposals on these crimes and the effect they have in our cities and campuses. With reports
on how sexual violence is occurring is cities and campuses we can create new laws that get the
correct assailant and keep victims in safety and out of harm's way.

Though we have many practitioners and experts to deal with the issue of sexual violence
there is very few literary examples on how to handle these incidents. Michigan gathered
research from forensic labs and focus groups to create a new kit of procedures to use in dealing
with these cases. Their findings have help support the creation of new laws and regulations for
the state, as well as, provide a safer environment. Free of sexual violence.

There are many ways that sexual violence as a crime is stated but the main legal form is
that Any unwanted or unwarranted sexual activity without given consent. With many states
giving hot debate over what is the proper way to hand out these meaning and where the law
bends are always talked about and give a deeper perspective into how we deal with these case.

There are new laws being put in place for sexual acts and how we define giving consent.
The new Affirmative Consent says that a person has to actual agree (Say yes and only yes) to
actually have agreed to giving the consent. The act of saying nothing and physical contact have
no more meaning and would be thrown out of the case if used as a form of consent. Some major
colleges had some problems with the new laws saying that they are trying to benefit off of the
sexual act of people. Even with this jarring accusation they seem to be making the change to
many other parts of the community like the health industry and law as to how to deal with
professionals who have sex with their client.

Campus life has changed over the course of the years and the rate of sexual violence that
occurs has risen with each year. On average one in every five women who live on campus has
gone through some sort of sexual assault. This leaves many of the survivors to struggle
academically and in the workplace. Many turn to alcohol and drug abuse to cope with the
tragedy and suffer from PTSD which is the main cause of the disturbance in their performance.
The white house task force of protection and services is making new procedures into how we can
help these circumstances with teach students about; partnership, prevention, advocacy and
confidentiality, training, and climate surveys.

With these changes to affirmative consent it looks that there will be a lot of changes to
the way that intercourse itself will be played out but this approach creates a much safer
environment and allow there to be less confusion that takes place. This will help campus life and
the state of Michigan break new grounds on this social issue and lead to less of these crime

happening. With new laws in place there will be safer streets and less crime that will perpetuate
through the cities.
