Marijuana the miracle worker

For centauries we have misjudged and misused a miracle worker, the cannabis or
more known as a killer drug, marijuana. We have tried to stop the usage of it from the face of
the planet. But now many countries and some U.S. states are legalizing marijuana. (Meeks,
1994) There must be reason why they are taking back their words. It's because the studies on
marijuana has come out positive rather than negative as we knew it. In the past there were
many negative concerns of marijuana such as it can lead people into hallucination and
addiction, and ultimately to death. but now we know that there are more benefits from
marijuana. It can increase domestic market spending, jobs and tourism industry and it can
also even be used as remedy. How we decided this miracle worker as a fatal and vicious drug,
we will never know.
To start with, government can collect taxes through increased domestic market
spending because of cannabis. which can be used to develop public facilities and contributed
to governments development. Either way, if the country is banning the marijuana, people
will buy their cannabis from black market brokers. Which mean they are won't be paying the
taxes. The amounts of marijuana being sold in the United States that are not taxed is beyond
imaginable. To illustrate, Colorado, U.S. government has legalized marijuana and has earned
200 million dollars at a first month and they are estimating that they can gain 6700 million
dollars a year.(Meeks, 1994) The beneficial thing about them is that they have spent all these
taxes for establishing public schools. Also, the government should not have to spend their

taxes to crack down on the black market. There are so many good things the government and
citizens can benefit from.
Secondly, by allowing marijuana, it can create various jobs for people and can make
tourism to thrive. Nowadays, unemployment rate is very high all around the world. Thus, by
allowing selling marijuana in an open market, it can create jobs from marijuana farm-bailiff,
manufacturer, distribution enterprise to store owner. In the region which legalized the
marijuana has came up with a new job which is called budtender. (Matt Ferner, 2012) This
job is offering people different types of marijuana just like how bartenders do. Also, tourism
industries can be flourished. The countries which have been legalizing marijuana are
targeting the non-marijuana countries. If this industry gets popular, there are also possibilities
that tourism such as Korean traditional tour sites can prosper with the cannabis industry.
Permitting marijuana helps citizens to sustain their lives by making job and it aids people
who are sick. (Seoul Economics, 2014)
Lastly, It could sound shockingly to many people but marijuana can be used as
medical treatment for ill people, and very good at doing it too. In United States, 20 states
have allowed the use of marijuana as a medical purpose. Marijuana can be used to restraint
patients who are suffering from epilepsy, seizure, nausea. (Matt Ferner, 2012) Also,
marijuana helps to cure cancer and decreases patients pain. According to ananticancer
research conducted by Rye Way, the researcher of Saint George London University, in
marijuana there are 6 types of cannabinoid. This can control the cancer cells or eliminate
cancer cells right away. (Matt Ferner, 2012) THC is a cannabinoid which is found in
marijuana, by using this substance it can make strong anticancer effect. Besides, THC is not a
psycholtropic drug which also means it has no hallucination effect. Thus, by using marijuana,
people can exploit new medicines. There are so many great things about marijuana that
people do not really know or want to know.

To conclude, there are many benefits that we can get by regalizing marijuana. The
countries which have marijuana already recognize all these great aspects of marijuana and
decide to allow it to the public. If marijuana is actually the killer plant and does not have
benefits to people than the governments who have allowed cannabis would not have opened
the marijuana to the market. Thus, view on the marijuana should be changed and perception
of the marijuana and legitimate it.
