Attendance
Make-Up Work
Students are responsible for obtaining and completing all notes, classwork, and homework that they miss
due to an absence. Students have one week from the last day of their absence to complete make-up work
for full credit.
Late Work
Late work is accepted at any point in the semester for 50% credit. It is the students responsibility to
obtain and complete any missing work.
Tardies
All late students must obtain a tardy slip from the office before they will be allowed to join class. Late
students must enter quietly and gather what they missed without disrupting the flow of class.
- Three tardies is a warning. Four tardies will result in a detention.

Organization/Class Binder 5%
Students are required to keep a binder or section in a large binder for Human Ecology. This binder is the
artifact that proves student organization in this class. Students are required to file ALL papers behind
their respective tab in the binder, unless otherwise specified by the teacher. Do not throw away any
packets, workbooks, or assignments. The binder will be checked throughout the semester and graded
for completeness and proper organization.
Class Notes 10%
Each set of class notes is worth 10 points (this may vary depending on the length of the note taking
period.) If a student is absent or loses their notes, it is their responsibility to obtain the notes from a peer
or the teacher.
Class Work 30%
Class Work includes projects, papers, worksheets, warm-ups, and homework. Late class work will be
accepted for 50% credit.
The Class Work category also includes a 100 point Participation grade. All students start out with
100% participation. Some examples of actions that result in a loss of participation points:
- Disrespect to fellow classmates, the teacher, or the classroom environment.
- Improper use of cell phone or electronic device (see Student Handbook)
- Use of profanity
- Disruptive behavior
- Disengagement
Tests/Quizzes 40%
Quizzes will be given in the middle of each unit. Tests will be given at the end of each unit. If a student
is absent for a quiz or test, they are able to make it up during SDL or by appointment.
Final Exam 15%
A comprehensive exam is given at the end of the semester. If a student is absent for the final exam, they
need to make arrangements with their counselor, the front office, and the teacher for an alternative test
time.
