Dr. Matt Heinz fundraising total exceeds $400,000 for AZ-02 race
Dr. Matt Heinz, Democratic candidate for Congress in Arizona's 2nd District, announced that he
has raised over $400,000 for his campaign at year's end. Heinz said the campaign raised over
$200,000 in the 4th quarter of 2015, adding to the $203,000 he raised in the 3rd quarter.
"Matt's fundraising success is a validation of his approach as a bipartisan problem solver," said
campaign spokesperson Bill Scheel. "We're proud that so many Arizonans have joined his effort
to bring common sense solutions to Washington."
Scheel noted that so far the campaign has received more than 2,000 donations. The median
donation is under $200 with the overwhelming majority of donations coming from within Arizona,
Scheel said.

ABOUT DR. MATT HEINZ

Dr. Matt Heinz has proven record of success as a physician, bipartisan lawmaker and public servant. Hes
been an attending physician at the Tucson Medical Center since 2003. There he treats patients with a
range of diagnoses, from heart attacks and head trauma to chronic conditions like diabetes, PTSD and

gridlock in Phoenix to get it passed (Ariz. H.B. 2520, 2011; Ariz. H.B. 2545 (2010); standing up for our
injured veterans so their benefits can never be seized by collectors (Ariz. H.B. 2348, 2010); and helping
secure health care for seniors who need it most by ensuring access to hospice care (Ariz. H.B. 2099,
2011) in a time of drastic cuts.
From June 2013 to March 2015, Dr. Heinz served as Director of Provider Outreach in the Office of the
Secretary at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. At HHS, Dr. Heinz helped coordinate
federal response to the Ebola virus and worked closely with healthcare providers implementing the
Affordable Care Act.
