In past years, the Kiwanis Clubs of the

Southwind Division have raised more funds for Riley

Hospital for Children than any other Kiwanis division
in the state of Indiana, totaling almost $300,000.
This is thanks, in part, to the great dedication of
the Evansville community, parents and individuals
served by Deaconess Riley Childrens Services and
Riley Hospital for Children.

Deaconess Hospital and Riley Hospital

for Children began seeing patients together in

1991 in a small pediatric cardiology clinic staffed

with Riley pediatric cardiologists and Deaconess
nursing staff. After years of successful clinics together,
Deaconess Hospital and Riley Hospital for Children
signed a formal agreement in 2004 to provide more
services right here in our community.
The benefits of a local Riley Hospital clinic are
obvious, in fact Deaconess Riley Childrens Services
provides more than 5,000 visits to local patients each
year. You can help ensure that Deaconess and Riley
continue to provide high-quality pediatric care to
Tri-State patients. Donations from the Tri-State will
be used to support the local Riley clinic, giving our
families access to vital pediatric services without
having to travel out of town.

club founded in 1915. Its headquartered in Indianapolis,

Indiana, and currently has 240,000 members in 7,700 clubs
in 80 countries.
The Southwind Division of the Indiana district is composed
of 11 local Kiwanis Clubs in Vanderburgh, Warrick and
Posey counties. As a district event in 1992, members from
all 11 clubs started the Riley Walk to promote wellness and
good health. The Walk-a-Thon is the single largest Kiwanis/
Riley fundraising event in Indiana. All of the walk proceeds
are donated to Riley and Deaconess-Riley for the benefit of
the children they serve.
