Title:
PreventingCancerUsingAnticarcinogens

IntroductionandOverviewofResearch:
Theresearchofthisprojectfocusesonfindinghowdifferenttypesofanticarcinogenscanbe
usedtopreventcancerordestroytumorsbeforethecancerdevelopsinthebody.Beingabletofindthe
mosteffectiveusageofanticarcinogensthroughresearchofvariousmethodsandtypesof
anticarcinogenscaninhibittheeffectofcarcinogensthatsurroundus.Maintainingahealthydiet
containingtheseanticarcinogensmaybeabletoaccomplishthisgoal,asproventhroughtheresearch.

BackgroundandRationale:
Anticarcinogensarefoundinmanydifferentfoodsandcanhelppreventcertaincancersorfight
offcancercells.Anassortmentofanticarcinogenssuchasantioxidants,glucosinolates,indoles,and
flavonoidsarefoundinavarietyofdifferentfoods,liketurmeric,tea,andmanyfruitsandvegetables,
someofwhichareknowntobeabletokillcancercellsorslowthegrowthoftumors(Camposetal.,
2005).Thismaybehelpfulinpreventingthegrowthofsuchmalignanciescompletely.
Differenttypesofanticarcinogenscanpreventvariouscancers.Mostanticarcinogenshavethe
greatestimpactonthedigestivesystem,aswhenthefoodisdigested,theanticarcinogensgetabsorbed
intothegastrointestinaltract,helpingtoeliminatecarcinogensandpreventcancerinthisarea(Can
turmeric,2015).
Thistopicisoneofgreatimportancetomebecausepreventingcancerbeforeitdevelopscan
decreasethenumberofcancerpatientsandtheirhighdeathrates,whichwouldbebeneficialtothe
community.Ifcancercanbeeradicatedinthisway,itwillnolongerbenecessarytofindacureto
completelyfixcancerafterithasalreadytakenholdofthebody.

ResearchMethodology:
ResearchQuestion:
Howcandifferenttypesofanticarcinogensbeusedtoeffectivelypreventvariouskindsof
cancer?
ResearchHypothesis:
Thedigestionoffoodswithhighcontentsofanticarcinogensiseffectiveatpreventingcancers
foundinthedigestivesystem.
Anticarcinogensthatarefoundincruciferousvegetables,glucosinolates,flavonoids,andothers
canpreventcancersinthedigestivesystem.
ResearchDesignModel:
Thisresearchprojectusesexperimentalquantitativedata.Thisdesignmodelwouldallowthe
effectivenessofdifferenttypesofanticarcinogenstobemeasuredusingnumericalvalues.

DataCollection:

Forthedatacollection,metaanalysiscanbeused.Inthisprocess,manyresearchpaperswill
becollectedfocusingontheimpactsofvariousanticarcinogensonpreventingcancer.Fromthis,the
datacanbecomparedandanalyzedinordertodraworiginalconclusions.Thismethodofquantitative
datacollectionworksthebestforthisprojectasfindingenoughprofessionalsinthefieldtoconduct
interviewsisdifficult,andconductingoriginalexperimentsisnotpossibleduetothenatureofthe
project.Theinformationfromthesourcesthathavebeencollectedwillhelpsupportthedatabeing
analyzedandcompared.

ProductObjectives:
Abrochurecanbecreatedtoinformthegeneralteenageandadultpopulationonhowtheycan
eatcertainkindsoffoodstotakeprecautionsagainstdevelopingcancer,especiallyifitispredominantin
thefamily.Thisaudiencewilllearnandbenefitthemostfromthisinformationastheyarelikelytobeata
levelofknowledgewheretheyknowwhatcancerisandunderstandhowthisinformationcouldbenefit
them.Thebrochurecouldincludethespecifickindsoffoodstheyshouldbeincorporatingintotheirdiets
andwhattypesofcancereachfoodiseffectiveatpreventing.Thiscouldbedistributedthroughschool,
forpatientsatmedicalcentersorhospitals,orevenanonlinebrochure.

LogisticalConsiderations:
Theproductcouldusemediatodistributeelectroniccopiesofthebrochures,anditwillalso
needalargeamountofcopiestobeprintedinordertobedistributedinvariouslocations,asmentioned
above.
Inthirdquarter,atimelinewillbeaddedthatoutlinesthedatacollection,productdevelopment,
andaudiencedistribution.
