Each student is to design and build a structure or a container using
geometrical shapes. We will be looking for the following criteria for
each students project:
1. Design a geometrical structure or container that has an
opening that mail/cards could slide into. The opening should
be at least 5 x 2
2. At least 2 two-dimensional/flat shapes are used to build the
structures. (square, circle, triangle, heart, etc.)
3. At least 1 three-dimensional shape is used to build the
structure. (cube, cylinder,etc.)
**The shapes could be decorations on the container or the
container itself.
4. The box should be no larger than 12" in width, depth or
height.
5. The container should be easy to carry
6. You must have fun completing this activity!

The structures will be used for collecting Valentine cards from

classmates. Bring your box in along with 25 Valentines; one for each
participating student.
If you do not celebrate Valentines Day, you may create a box for other
keepsakes.
