    Goodmorning.
    Itgivesmegreatpleasuretojoinyouthismorninginthe'TheGreatAllianceGirlsWalk'anoble
    resourcemobilisationstrategytoraisefundsfortherefurbishmentoftheSchoolsinfrastructure.

    AsthePatronofAllianceGirls,Ialsotakeprideinbeingheretocelebratewithyoutheschoolslong
    historyofexistence.Sixtyeightsyearsago,AllianceGirlswasfoundedbytheScottishmissionariesin
    1948,asthefirstpremierAfricanGirlsHighSchoolinKenyafortheAfricangirlchild.Girlswere
    drawnfromdiversegeographical,socialandeconomicbackgroundsinKenyaandneighbouringEast
    Africancountries.
    Theschoolsacclaimtofame,asacentreofexcellence,isevidentfromthealumnigraduateswhoare
    recognisedasexpertsandoccupyleadershippositionsinKenya,Africaandbeyond.
    ThousandsofgirlshavegraduatedfromAlliance,andaretodaymakinggreatcontributionstothe
    country'snationaldevelopment.ManyofthesewomenareidentifiedasFirstsbreakingunseen
    barriersservingascabinetpositions,permanentsecretariesandheadsofcivilservice.Othersare
    renownededucationalists,physiciansandleadersininstitutionsofhigherlearning.
    TheinfluenceofAllianceGirlsphilosophyisevidentfromthestrongChristianfoundationandanall
    roundedholisticeducationalexperience.Thishasresultedintherapidincreaseinenrolmentinthelast
    5yearstoatotalofover1,000students.
    LadiesandGentlemen,
    ThiswalkbythegirlsappealstotheKenyancultureofgivingandphilanthropy,whichIhavealso
    experiencedformyBeyondZeroCampaignandtheupcomingFirstLadysHalfMarathonevent,
    scheduledtotakeplaceinMarch6th.Ilookforwardtoyoursupportthen.Buttoday,letusallfocuson
    thetaskofsupportingAllianceGirls.
    Weallrecognisethestrugglesfacedbyournationalschools.Asoneofthenationstoplearning
    institutions,AllianceGirlsfaceschallengesandpressuresofincreasedenrolmentstudentquotasthat
    causesstresstotheexistingfacilitiesandinfrastructure.OneoftheendearingvaluesofAllianceGirls
    isthatitofferslearningopportunitiestogirlsfrompoorbackgroundswhoareunablepayfortheir
    studiesandneverotherwisegetachancetorealisetheirfullpotential.
    Wemustsupportthisspecialvalueandmakeitpossibleforourgirlstogetaneducationfromthis
    prestigiousschool.Atthesametime,wemustensurethequalityofacademicexcellenceisnot
    compromisedduetolimitedresources.
    LetusWalkinthelightandsupportthisnoblecause.
