Cloud computing

Abstract
In this paper i will try to describe cloud computing. Cloud Computing is technology based on
internet providing information and file sharing system. It refers to applications delivered as
services over Internet as well as hardware and systems software in the data centers that
provide those services. Cloud computing has been growing rapidly; it evolves models
offering significant advantages. Cloud computing services can be private, public or hybrid, as
well as three broad service categories: infrastructures a service (IaaS), platform as a service
(PaaS) and software as service (SaaS). Cloud computing has become single most important
development project in term of sharing, accessing and writing data, promises several
attractive benefits for users. Internet allows access to clouds at any time or place; only
requirement is stable internet connection.
Key words: Cloud computing, advantages and disadvantages, types of cloud computing.
Introduction
Cloud computing is the result of the evolution and adoption of existing technologies and
paradigms. The goal of cloud computing is to allow users to take benet from all of these
technologies, without the need for deep knowledge about or expertise with each one of them.
Cloud computing has appeared as a new trend for both computing and storage. Cloud
computing is a general term for the delivery of hosted services over the Internet. Cloud
computing is so named because the information being accessed is found in the "clouds", and
does not require a user to be in a specific place to gain access to it. Companies may find that
cloud computing allows them to reduce the cost of information management, since they are
not required to own their own servers and can use capacity leased from third parties.
Additionally, the cloud-like structure allows companies to upgrade software more quickly.
Cloud computing has changed the way in which users system work and it has changed the
way in which data is shared among users. Most of people still do not use cloud computing full
capabilities. Some say that they are not completely familiar with ways of usage, some of them
simply do not want to due to computer illiteracy or fear of security issues with cloud
computing.
Body
Cloud computing has evolved as a popular and universal paradigm for service oriented
computing where computing infrastructure and solutions are delivered as a service. Basic
concepts of cloud computing we can break down on type of cloud services models and
deployment models. Main deployment models are: private cloud, public cloud and hybrid
cloud. Private cloud is cloud infrastructure operated solely for a single organization, whether
managed internally or by a third-party, and hosted either internally or externally. Public cloud
is called when the services are rendered over a network that is open for public use. Public
cloud services may be free. Hybrid cloud is a composition of two or more clouds (private,

community or public) that remain distinct entities but are bound together, offering the benefits
of multiple deployment models, linked in a way that data transfer takes place between them
without affecting each other. Types of cloud computing are Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS),
Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS).
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) means you're buying access to raw computing
hardware over the Net, such as servers or storage. Since you buy what you need and pay-asyou-go, this is often referred to as utility computing
Software as a Service (SaaS) means you use a complete application running on
someone else's system.
Platform as a Service (PaaS) means you develop applications using Web-based tools
so they run on systems software and hardware provided by another company.

Methods

.In this study, we surveyed 748 IT and IT security practitioners located in the United
States. Sixty-four percent of respondents are at the supervisor level or higher in their
organizations with total years of IT or IT security experience averaging 10 years. The majority
of respondents self-report they are responsible for setting priorities, selecting vendors and
contractors and managing budgets. Seventy percent say they work in organizations with a
headcount of more than 5,000 people.
Results
Comparing survey findings to the previous study, we offer the following key findings:
only about half of respondents had positive perceptions about how their organizations are
adopting cloud security best practices and creating confidence in cloud services used within
their organization. There remains a lack of agreement about who has responsibility for cloud
security. It makes sense that many organizations expect their cloud services providers to
ensure the security of SaaS and IaaS applications (36 percent and 22 percent, respectively). At
the same time, only eight percent of respondents say IT and IT security are engaged to
analyze the security of applications and services for SaaS and only 10 percent of respondents
say it is the case for IaaS. Seventy-nine percent of respondents selected end-users as the
number one group responsible for the security of cloud service providers. Respondents also
report that responsibility for SaaS and IaaS security is also assigned to the companies endusers (31 percent and 21 percent of respondents, respectively).
Discussion
While end-users need to assume responsibility for their own devices and
applications, should this accountability extend to the cloud? A concern is that
relinquishment of responsibility to end-users for cloud security might result in practices that

are inconsistent with the overall security posture of the organization. To which point is cloud
computing secure and reliable?
Conclusion
Based on the research data, we stated the following conclusion. Half of respondents
had positive view on cloud computing technology, while other half doesnt trust in security of
cloud computing. Now we have Cloud everywhere, in education, in public, in our homes, we
are using cloud for many problems and Cloud is our future, with some protection from
possible problems there are no real reason to stop Cloud development.
