Reflection
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)

1. Briefly describe the field

experience. What did you learn about
technology facilitation and leadership
from completing this field experience?

As a technology leader, I assessed

the condition of a fellow teachers
laptop labs and decided which
upgrades to make. I ended up
updating flash player, installing
google chrome and java. All of
these are needed to run virtual labs
and simulations. I learned that
teacher leaders are often asked for
help when it comes to technology
and how to best assess how the help
is given.

2. How did this learning relate to the

knowledge (what must you know),
skills (what must you be able to do)
and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs,
enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader?

(Refer to the standards you selected in

Part I. Use the language of the PSC
standards in your answer and reflect
on all 3knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)
Teacher leaders must know how to
upgrade and update computers so they
can run the programs needed. The skills
come in on actually knowing what order
and how to physically update the system.
Teacher leaders must be willing and able
to think out of the box learn additional
technology skills.

3. Describe how this field experience

impacted school improvement, faculty
development or student learning at
your school. How can the impact be
assessed?
This field experience exposed a need
that I hadnt thought of before. The
laptop computer labs are a great resource
and tool, but must be updated regularly.
In my opinion, some teachers should be
trained how to do this to help support the
school.

1.

Briefly describe the field

experience. What did you
learn about technology
facilitation and leadership
from completing this field
experience?
As a technology teacher
leader, I helped a teacher
resolve her SMART board

connection issues. I also

helped the same teacher with
the LCD projector problems.
This was an interesting
experience because it was the
first time that I was partially
unsuccessful in fixing a
technology issue.

Technology teacher leaders
must know how to
systematically troubleshoot
and make recommendations.
Skills-wise, teacher
technology leaders must be
able to facilitate solving the
issues concretely. As for
dispositions, teacher
technology leaders must be
willing to think out of the box
and learn needed technology
skills.

3rd Field Experience Activity/Time

Date(s)

PSC/ISTE Standard(s)

Describe how this field

experience impacted school
improvement, faculty
development or student
learning at your school. How
can the impact be assessed?
Student learning is more
effective when technology is
used to foster critical thinking
skills. Teaching and learning
is more effective when the
technology works. As a
teacher technology leader, I
helped to support teaching and
learning in a fellow teachers
classroom.
