During World War II the mass media


influenced history by producing and
distributing propaganda to bolster support
for the war from their respective countries
and alliances

HOW HAS THE MEDIA INFLUENCED

The respective countries that participated


within the conflict of World War II

WHERE?

The media of each country involved in World


War II was used to promote the war effort
and show how they were superior over the
enemy countries.

WHY?

the time to help influence history

conserving your countrys
resources, you are helping
the Nazis in their war effort

Volk (New People), the
organ of the party's
racial office. The text
reads: "This
genetically ill person
will cost our people's

marks over his
lifetime. Citizens,
that is your money.

policy office of the
NSDAP."

ANTI- SEMITISM

Those descended from an Indo-European


speaking people who embraced racialist
thought, sharing the idea with Nazis.

ARYAN

A place where large numbers of political


prisoners or persecuted minorities were
imprisoned, especially in Nazi Germany.

CONCENTRATION CAMPS

A prison camp for political prisoners or


prisoners of war, in which many die from
conditions or mass execution.

DEATH CAMP

The act of degrading people based on


their best qualities.

DEHUMANIZATION

The moving of something from its position so


something else can take the place

DISPLACEMENT

Adolf Hitlers political party devoted to killing


all of the Jewish people in Germany and in
the world.

NAZISM

The deliberate killing of large group of


people, often of a specific ethnic
group.

GENOCIDE

A German secret police under Nazi rule that


suppressed opposition to the Nazis.

GESTAPO

The mass murder of Jewish people under the


German Nazi rule from 1941-1845.

HOLOCAUST

A section of a city where Jews were forced to live. They could


not leave for work or any other reason. The ghettos were
overcrowded and the residents were often starving.

GHETTO

The symbol of the Nazi party.

SWASTIKA

The dissemination of biased or misleading


information to cause a point of view.
