Subject : Suggestions for improving the MBA program at The Australian National
University.
Dear Mr.Hughes ,
This is XYZ from your Masters of Business Administration`s program . I am really
glad & thankful to you for nurturing our program .
In Reference to email assignment meant to share my thoughts towards your MBA
program . I am writing to express my satisfaction to you for bringing the syllabus of
the course in a more practical & simplistic way which is really helping in easy
understanding & has improved my communication skills while interacting with my
friends/colleagues at university as well as at my work place , but there is still a lot
of things of which I am not pleased with & hence would like to take an opportunity
to recommend the following things in the course especially in curriculum , tutorials
& industry experience which could work wonders in the program .
My recommendations are :
1) Firstly rather than a fixed generic curriculum ,I suggest for creating specialized
stackable "knowledge units" made up of perhaps three or four courses or cocurricular activity units each. Courses like Entrepreneurship should be brought in.
2) Secondly there should be a double degree option provided with MBA program like
JD + MBA or MBA + Phd similar to what other reputed universities offer .
3) Thirdly students should be taken for industry trips for better international
exposure relevant to their specialization in field opted & should be provided with
compulsory credit for taking an internship .
5) Fourthly students should be encouraged to be really active in university`s
different societies rather than focusing on part-time jobs. Hence could be brought
in to assist University`s professor in their work.
6) Lastly the course should be merged in such a way that it is more challengeable &
bring innovation for future prospects.
I hope my recommendations would really be fruitful for implementing in the course
& would ensure to improve the reputation of the program and would hence
appreciate your feedback in this regard .
