1.) A wage is an income paid hourly, while a salary is an income paid over a certain time period,(
weeks, months, or a year), that does not change regardless hours worked. ( You receive a salary)
2.) You can receive bonuses, generally a financial reward in your case, for receiving a certain
average in class test scores, the store selling products at an increasing rate, work efficiency, and
etc
3.) A commission based salary is a salary that differs and changes month to month depen ding on
how much of a product or products are sold. This does not really apply to you because we would
include bonuses in your paycheck if sales are up to par, rather than basing your salary on them.
4.) A combination plan may interest you because it is when an employee receives a base salary but
also receives commission. This plan is very unlikely for you because youre not really selling the
products and it wouldnt benefit you as much as a regular salary would.
5.) We offer competitive salaries; this means we base your pay on the average teacher pay in the
Gainesville area, (how much other teachers at other schools receive and base your income off of
it.) You are safe because you do a fine job and give us no reason to hire a replacement.
6.) Benefits are employment rewards for service in addition to salary. (paid days off = vacation and
sick leave, various insurance). Our policies on paid vacation is that you are allowed two-three
weeks of paid vacation a year and the days not used travel over from year to year. Now we as a
company would like you to try to use all of your vacation days in a 4 year span, and once you
reach a certain amount of days saved up or if you choose to use the third week of paid vacation
we will only pay you one half to three fourths of your salary during that time. ( if it is your childs
birthday or close family members birthday or funeral we will work with you, you probably wont
get paid on those days but while we are addressing the topic of days off we want you to know
that we will try to lend a helping hand) Now our sick leave policy consists of you receiving 5-10
days of sick leave. During sick leave you will only be paid a percentage of your salary generally
50% unless you are in dire need to take a sick day and youve already used up al l of your sick
days it will probably be around 25%-40%. (Depending on your job, income, and financial
situation.) Your insurance policies will most likely aid in the areas of health, dental, accident, and
other areas that you may be affected by at work. We may provide you the basic type of
insurance in each area or just a sum of money divided to go to solely each of your insurance
payments that we aid and help provide to you.
7.) Just a forewarning, we will drug test you at the beginning of each semester or each year at least
once, or even if we feel like you may be using or you get into trouble with the law or are on
probation. (We are a drug free campus and we expect our teachers to set an example for our
students, as well as please try to refrain to being in pictures with alcohol on social media and
etc..)

Compensation Package

Manager
1.) A wage is an income paid hourly, while a salary is an income paid over a certain time period,(
weeks, months, or a year), that does not change regardless hours worked. We dont get paid
monetarily but rather in hours required for this class.(if we were paid we would receive wages)
2.) Managers can receive bonuses, a reward financially but in our case rather a discount or a free
item from the school store. Managers can receive a bonus by selling a certain amount of
products and hitting a set goal during lunch, selling spirit wear and school supplies, an d by doing
well in class.
3.) A commission based salary is a salary that differs and changes month to month depen ding on
how much of a product or products are sold. Although this may not apply to the managers if it
did they would receive very low income if any at all.
4.) A combination plan may interest you because it is when an employee receives a base salary but
also receives commission. If we start paying our managers, we would want to and most likely
implement this type of payment plan. This would benefit you and The Red Elephant the most
because you would already be receiving a lower income, but by adding a percentage of your
sales into it, your income, you would be motivated to work harder for more personal gain.
5.) We do offer competitive salaries,(base the average income of other employees in the same
geographical area ,that work for different businesses, that do the same thing you do ,and base
your income off of theirs), to some of our other employees, but this payment plan would not
apply to you. This is because there is no other school store that we know of in the area other
than the one on the main campus. Now the other school store gives us an idea to implement a
new spin off of competitive salaries, which are competitive rewards. We would see how they
reward their students and make them better to attract more people to the entrepreneurship
pathway. (This is essentially Competitive Benefits; benefits are employment rewards for service
in addition to salary.)
6.) Because our managers are students that attend the High School, GHS, we abide by the tardy and
absent policies. This means that if you are tardy more than three times you receive In School
Suspension. This also means that you have to report to class and if you are absent you need to
provide an excuse from your doctor or parent. Upon the accumulation of too many absences,
the penalty will range from warning and/or conference with student/parent/ guardian to one to
three day In School Suspension.

Training
Who Trains? : Mrs. Crumley teaches us (her students) how to run the store and cash box.
How Are We Taught? : Well what we do is very simple, so it really doesnt take long. Since we should be
able to compute simple math all she does is show us the cart, store, and gives us a rundown of how it
works.
Steps:
1.) Try to plan out what days and lunch we can work on a sample schedule
2.) Walk down to the school store as a class
3.) Listen and learn about restocking the cart, cashing in/out the cash box, and go over prices and
goods
4.) Eventually a schedule is posted on the google classroom
5.) We begin working
