CHA Announces New Chief Development Officer


Charlotte, NC (February 25, 2015) The Charlotte Housing Authority (CHA) is pleased to announce that
Troy A. Drawz has joined the organization as its Chief Development Officer. Drawz will be responsible for
managing the operations and administration of all of CHAs Real Estate Development initiatives,
including, multi-family design, construction, finance, and program administration.
Troys expertise in the development of affordable and public housing represents a valuable resource
that will help us continue growing as a leader framing solutions to affordable housing issues in
Charlotte, said A. Fulton Meachem Jr., President and CEO.
Drawz joins CHA from the Vancouver Housing Authority (VHA), where he served as the Director of
Development and Construction. He also served as Executive Director of Vancouver Affordable Housing, a
501(c)(3) nonprofit subsidiary of VHA focused on real estate development, property management and
asset disposition. In addition to his 12 years' experience in the development of affordable and public
housing, Drawz has a diverse range of experience in the private sector, including Avamere Health
Services, where he managed real estate development of senior independent living facilities.
Troy Drawz remarked, I am so honored to have this opportunity to serve the Charlotte community as
part of the Charlotte Housing Authority. I am really looking forward to working with the progressive
leadership of the agencys Board and CEO to further CHAs mission of providing a diversity of housing
options to the community, and to helping the agency evolve its development strategy for creating
sustainable and affordable housing opportunities.
