1. Where was Abraham Lincoln born?

in 1809, Abraham Lincoln was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky.

2. Name all the jobs he had as an adult.

While Abraham Lincoln was at Sinking Springs, Kentucky, he was so young that he
was unable to help with household chores.
While at Knob Creek Farm, Lincoln was age of almost 8. It was here that he was first
able to help his parents, and he did so by fetching water, carrying firewood, and helping
to plant the garden.
Although Lincolns family spent only one year at this site, he helped build a log cabin,
raise corn, split rails for fence, and was with his family as they survived the terrible
winter in 1831.

3. Did Abraham Lincoln go to school?

No, he takes classes on his house with his father and then work, it was a good
education but wasnt the same of going to school but their family was poor and thei live
so far of the school

and to attend the theater

5. When was he elected president of the United States? How was

he elected?
One of the most significant aspects of Lincolns election is that he held all of the
Free states and none of the slave states. When the results of the election were
announced many in South Carolina and Charleston started meeting to discuss
succession. Lincoln was elected the President of the United States (the 16th) on
November 6th, 1860 and by November 10th legislature had started meeting and
succession talk was underway.

6. What did the Emancipation Proclamation do? Why is it so

important?
In September of 1862, after the Union's victory at Antietam, Lincoln issued a
preliminary decree stating that, unless the rebellious states returned to the Union by
January 1, freedom would be granted to slaves within those states. The decree also left
room for a plan of compensated emancipation. No Confederate states took the offer,
and on January 1 Lincoln presented the Emancipation Proclamation. The proclamation
declared, "all persons held as slaves within any States, or designated part of the State,
the people whereof shall be in rebellion against the United States, shall be then,

7 .Why do you think Abraham Lincoln is called one of our greatest

presidents?
I think that he is called one of our greatest presidents because he solve the problem of
slavery and free the slave that were treated like animals and in that time the animals
were treated better than the people, thus problem was so difficult to solve and Abraham
was the only president who make a nice influence to stop this situation, and if he
wouldnt make anything, we will be in the same situation that in that time happen

My expectations of this book are that, if this book would be educative, at least it would
be interesting and that we can learn more about the life of Abraham Lincoln
