1. Where was Abraham Lincoln born?
On the day 12 of February in 1809, Abraham Lincoln is born in
Hodgenville, Kentucky (History)
2. Name all the jobs he had as an adult.
He lived in Illinois and performed a variety of jobs including stints as a
postmaster, surveyor and shopkeeper, before entering politics. He
served in the Illinois legislature from 1834 to 1836, and then became
an attorney. (History)
3. Did Abraham Lincoln go to school?
He attended school for only one year, but thereafter read on his own
in a continual effort to improve his mind. (History)
4. What did Abraham Lincoln like to do the most?
He liked very much the politics because he returned to it, after some
years.

As a presidential candidate in the election of 1860 (History), He was elected

7. What did the Emancipation Proclamation do? Why is it so important?
The Emancipation Proclamation is arguably one of the top ten most
important documents in the history of the United States; however, it is also
one of the most misunderstood (Jim Campi-Michelle McMahon, 2014).
Heralded as the savior of the Union, President Lincoln actually considered
the Emancipation Proclamation to be the most important aspect of his legacy.
I never, in my life, felt more certain that I was doing right, than I do in
signing this paper, he declared. If my name ever goes into history it will be
for this act, and my whole soul is in it." (Jim Campi-Michelle McMahon, 2014)
It is very important because at the time of singing Abraham Lincoln will be
remembered and his name will be toward all the history.

8. Why do you think Abraham Lincoln is called one of our greatest presidents?
He Abolished Slavery and STOPPED THE WAR plus he was assassinated.

He saved our continent by putting in the 13th amendment and the emancipation
proclamation that freed the slaves (Ferreira, 2007)
I think that yes because as it says there it saved United States from a war, where then he
was assassinated.
9. How did Abraham Lincoln die?
He died trying to avoid a war, he was assassinated by John Wilkes.

Lincoln is remembered as The Great Emancipator. Although he waffled on


the subject of slavery in the early years of his presidency, his greatest legacy
was his work to preserve the Union and his signing of the Emancipation
Proclamation. To confederate sympathizers, however, Lincolns signing of the
Emancipation Proclamation reinforced his image as a hated despot and
ultimately led John Wilkes Booth to assassinate him on April 14, 1865.

It is an American monument of him located in the western end of National Mall in
Washington DC, it was built in honor of the 16 president of United States.
11. What is Lincoln's Gettysburg address? What was the Battle of Gettysburg about?

On this day in 1863, President Abraham Lincoln delivers what will become
one of the most famous speeches in American history, at the dedication of
the military cemetery at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Using just 272 words,
Lincoln articulated the meaning of the Civil War for a public that had grown

He was born on February 12, he had a lot of jobs., he was elected president by
the candidate election, he sign a paper that made him a recognized president, he
tried to stoop a war where then he was killed by John Wilkes.
13. Name some interesting curious facts about Lincoln.
1. He was the only president to have a patent: Lincoln invented a device to free steamboats that
ran aground.
2. He practiced law without a degree. Lincoln had about 18 months of formal schooling.
3. He wanted women to have the vote in 1836. The future president was a suffragette before it
became fashionable.
4. He was a big animal lover, but he wouldnt hunt or fish. If he were alive today, Lincoln would
be running an animal shelter.
5. He really was a wrestler. Lincoln was documented as taking part in wrestling bouts. We dont
think he wore a mask or had a manager. (constitution, 2016)

14. Reflection: What are your expectations about this new book that we are going to
read? What are you expecting to learn?
I think this new book we are going to read will be interesting because it talks a
history I never listen to, also because I would learn new things and that is good
because in that way I would know about him, my expectations to learn are big
because it seem through what I investigate that he was a great man that made
wonderful things.
