Drugs

Bernie wants legalize marijuana so it can be out of the controlled substances list and
recreational it to reduce jailing. Legalizing marijuana with help people that need it for medical
reason. Most people need it and cant get it so by legalizing it would help a lot of people and cure
sickness. Also so it can be decriminalizing and study recreational legalization. He also wants to
help with addiction. Instead of treating it as a crime he wants to treat it as a sickness or disease.
Same thing with the war on drugs, Bernie wants a treatment instead of a punishment. I think its
because he realizes that people that are in the drug war are sometimes forced into it. Bernie voted
no on military border patrols to battle drugs and terrorism and no on subjecting federal
employees to random drug test. Putting military borders for drugs and terrorism isnt going to
stop them from getting to the United States. They just going to fins a way to get in.
John wants no part of legalizing marijuana. He thinks that by legalizing marijuana it
would influence kids to charge it and it being ok for them to do it. By telling kids dont do
drugs he thinks that it would lower their chances of doing drugs. Kids hear that all the time at
school, so if its not lowering their chance of not doing drugs what makes him think that it will
when hes president. John voted yes on prohibiting needle exchange and medical marijuana in
DC. Needle exchange is a program where drug users go to these centers and exchange used
hypodermic syringes for new ones. I think that it not really influencing them to stop using, but in
a way its preventing them from diseases and other things they can catch.

Crime
Bernie voted yes on funding for alternative sentencing instead of more prisons.
This means that he wants to focus more on more ways the person can be punished for, instead of
just funding for more prisons. He wants to force more on the person then he does on building
more prisons. I think hes doing this because some people are charge for crimes that they didnt
even do and the court is not realizing it and they are taking up space in the prison. For the people
who are bad they build a prison for them because the others are filled. Which is bad because the
country is wasting money for prisons, rather then spending it on something important. Also by
doing they may not spend so much money on prisons no more then they would do if they want
fund for prisons and fund more on the alternative sentencing.
John on the other hand wants to not fund for alternative sentencing instead of more
prisons. Instead he voted yes on more prosecution and sentencing for juvenile crime. He means
that he also wants to focus more on the person then right away sending them to prison and they
might not even have done the crime and John is allowing them to have a right to defend
themselves with a lawyer. Also he is allowing young people to go to jail. John is sentencing the
youth like he would with the adult cases.

Education
Bernie voted no on giving federal aid to schools allowing voluntary prayer. This means
that he is he not going to just fund for schools that allow voluntary only. Why would he only give
money to voluntary prayer schools and not the other schools that probably need it money then
the church schools. Only allowing federal aid to be given to schools that do voluntary prayer is
not fair. He wants all schools to be given money and have great education for the students in
America. He cant really do that by just giving prayer school federal aid. Hes not trying to single
out prayer schools, but doesnt think its fair to only give them federal aid.
John voted yes on giving federal aid to schools allowing voluntary prayer. This means
that he will only be allowing federal aid to be given to schools that do voluntary prayer. His
daughters go to catholic schools, so hes trying to get everyone to go to catholic schools, because
he thinks thats good for the youth. Which is not right, because not everyone can afford a catholic
school for their children. By giving only federal aid to prayer school, this would cause problems
and the public wouldnt like it. Which might cause protest and problems in the educations too.

Abortion
Bernie voted no on banning partial-birth abortions. Its the choice of the mother to
keep it or not. The mother might be going through a hard time and cant go through the
pregnancy, its sometimes best for the child not to be born it could end up suffering when it comes
out. Hes also

protecting the reproductive rights for women this includes safe abortion, the

right to birth control, good-quality reproductive healthcare, etc. Bernie wants there to be safe
access to legal abortion without restrictions. This allows the women to have a safe abortion
without having problems with anything. Bernie voted no banning partial-birth abortion except to
save mothers life. This means that the mother still has a choice is she wants to keep it or not
even though she can die if she has it. He is allowing HHS grants to organizations that perform
abortions. In other words, he still allowing funding to still got to the organizations that perform
abortions.
John wants to banned abortion including minors that choice to get an abortion. Minors
that get pregnant and choice to get an abortion should have the right just like grown women have
the right. Just because they are minors doesnt mean that they dont have a choice. Doesnt want
women to get abortions but is understandable if they choice to do so. Is accepting women to get
abortions in the case of rape and incest. Likes the idea that women who are pregnant and have
cancer choice not to treat it so they can protect their child.
