Advantages and Values Derived From the Study of Social Studies
From the study of social studies, students are equipped to be an effective
citizens now and prepared them to face challenges for the future.
Rightly done, social studies give students knowledge and understanding in
social, environmental, civics, etiquette, ethical issues etc., skills, and the right
attitude to apply what they learned. They will be aware of the problems of the
society and be a part of the developmental project. They will contribute towards
the development of democratic values. Loyalty toward society, nationality and
international understanding are also enhanced. Understanding and tolerance
toward different cultures and custom are the advantages gained.
From the study, students will learn to appreciate the environment and the world
around them to take care and improve them. They will have a sense of
responsibility toward them. Most of all they will understand that they are God
ordained stewardship on this earth.
