Choose one project and apply your knowledge gained from the research:

A. Journal & Mapping:

Several members of the Corps of Discovery, (men traveling along with Lewis and Clark) kept journals
along the way. They recorded such information as the landforms they saw, maps with latitude and
longitude, and the weather they encountered. Suppose you have joined Lewis and Clark on their
journey.
Create 5 journal entries describing the expedition.
Describe your experiences with the new plants, animals or people that you encounter during the
expedition.
Be sure to include a map for a section/region of Lewis and Clarks journey.

B.

Specimen Box:

As Lewis and Clark went on their expedition west, they found many new plants, animals and minerals
that they had never seen before. President Thomas Jefferson had told Lewis and Clark that they should
send examples of these new finds back to him.
Suppose you have joined Lewis and Clark on their journey.
Create a specimen box that includes:
5 objects that you found on your journey west
A description of the object,
Reasons why you think it is important to include in the box
Any other information you think is important.
