    Ourcommunityisdealingwithadifficultsituationandmanyofyouhavequestionsand
    concerns.Pleasebeassuredthatyourchildrenaresafewhentheyareatschool.

    Ithasbeenconfirmedthatseveralparentsinourcommunitywereapproachedbya
    reportergoingdoortodoorthispastSunday,andaskingifpeopleknewthat"Karla
    Homolka"waslivinginthearea.SchoolBoardofficialshavebroughtthisinformationto
    theChateauguayPolicewhoaretakingthisveryseriouslyandcollaboratingwithus.

    Asyouknow,underQuebecLaw,allchildrenhavetherighttoprivacyandanobligationto
    beinschool.ThisiswhyIcannotcommentanyfurtherorprovideanypersonal
    informationaboutanyfamily.

    IcanassureyouthatwhenyourchildrenareatCentennialParkSchool,theyaresafe.In
    themorning,wehaveemployeesondutywhoreceivethestudents.Throughouttheday,
    nobodycangainaccesstoourbuildingwithoutbeingbuzzedinbyastaffmember.We
    arealsoveryfortunatethatthedesignofourbuildinghasofficestafflocatedatthemain
    entrance.Also,thefrontdooristheonlyaccesspointtoourschool.Ourstaffknowsour
    familiesandisvigilantwhenitcomestoallowingadultsaccesstotheschool.

    PleasealsoknowthattheNewFrontiersSchoolBoardhaspoliciesinplacetoensurethat
    adultswhoworkorvolunteerwithourstudentsarerequiredtohavecriminalbackground
    checksdone.
