Use
Thesystemrunsanavailabilitycheckinthesupplyingplant(issuingplant)forstocktransportorders.
ThecheckingrulesthatyoudefineinCustomizingdeterminewhichstocks(forexample,stockinquality
inspectionandsafetystock)andwhichreceiptsandissues(forexample,reservationsandpurchase
requisitions)aretakenintoaccountintheavailabilitycheck.
Theavailabilitycheckcheckstheissuingstoragelocationinstocktransportordersbycheckingthe
assignedMRParea.

Constraints
Inthefollowingcases,noavailabilitycheckiscarriedout:
Stocktransportrequisitionsfromtheplanningrun
Stocktransportrequisitionsfromtheconversionofplannedorders
Stocktransportrequisitionsfromotherapplications(salesorder,productionorder,ornetwork)
Thereisnoavailabilitycheckforreturnsitems.
Theavailabilitycheckdoesnotcheckbatchstocksifabatchwasentered.Thisfunctionisnot
implemented.Youmayfindithelpfultorefertomodificationnotes154682and350864.

Anavailabilitycheckdoesnotrunautomaticallyforsubcontractingcomponents,becausethismaylead
toproblemsdownstream.

Fromthepointofviewofthesupplyingplantonly,thesystemalwayscheckstheopenquantityofan
itemaccordingtothefollowingformula:
Orderedquantityminusmaximumofdeliveredquantityorgoodsissuequantity
Iftheorderitemwascreatedwithreferencetoapurchaserequisition,thecheckignoresthe
requirementsforthepurchaserequisition,becausetheordertakesovertherequirementsforthe
purchaserequisition.Thealsoappliesifthepurchaserequisitionwasonlypartiallyconverted.

Inthesupplyingplant,thereare60piecesoftheorderedmaterial.Inthepurchaserequisition,100are
requested,butonly30areordered.Ifthepurchaserequisitionwithitsremainingquantityof70wereto
becountedasarequirement,nothingwouldbeconfirmedintheorder.

Dates
Thedateonwhichavailabilityischeckediscalculatedfromthedeliverydateminustheplanneddelivery
timefromthereceivingplant.
