TEACHING EXPERIENCE:
Spring 2016 3rd Grade Student Teaching (32 students), Hoover Elementary School - West Allis, WI
Planned and implemented daily math, inquiry, and guided reading lessons, with an emphasis on
differentiation and personalization.
Utilized classroom technology tools on a regular basis (e.g. iPads, learning apps, document camera,
etc.).
Developed special unit on the solar system, incorporating NASA live feeds and a student group
project.
Co-taught with cooperating teacher and fellow student teacher.
Created reading corner activities for Inquiry Night event, to increase parent participation.
Designed and organized event for special high interest day centered on bugs and beads and
connecting art activities.
Participated in the making of a motivation video for students preparing for testing.
Fall 2015
4th Grade Field Placement (27 students), Whittier Elementary - Milwaukee, WI
Developed and instructed seven whole group lessons focusing on mathematics.
Worked with small group of students below grade level to practice math strategies.
Differentiated instruction to meet the needs for range of student abilities.
Employed technology as an instructional tool.
Created and delivered one whole group social studies lesson preparing students for field trip centered
on industrialization and entrepreneurs.
2nd Grade Special Education Field Placement (4 students), Tess Corners Elementary Muskego, WI
Monitored individual students and guided them in classroom activities, to keep them on task.
Designed and taught one-on-one lesson for students with Down syndrome.
Observed interventions for students with vision, speech, and cognitive impairments.

Created and taught six whole group lessons focusing on the content areas of math and science.
Implemented movement as a developmentally appropriate technique to help keep students engaged
and learning.
Spring 2014 1st Grade Field Placement (19 students), Brookfield Elementary School Brookfield, WI
Designed and implemented 3 whole group lessons, centered on developing student reading
strategies.

Designed and taught two small group lessons focusing on sequencing and compound words.
Integrated technology (e.g. SMART Board and SMART Exchange) into both lessons.
Assisted students working at math stations.

Participated in semi-annual literacy discussions with Wisconsin educators and administrators; topics
included strategies for English Language Learners and standardized testing (MAPS and Badger
Exam) requirements and preparation.
