Writing for Your Future

Objectives:

You will draft, edit, revise, and polish your writing by working on your own and collaboratively.
You will follow the standard format for writing, punctuating, and citing sources according to MLA.
You will choose appropriate verbals, voice, and wording for your intended purpose and audience.
You will read and follow directions to complete an application for college, scholarship, or employment.
You will be able to identify reliable sources for research.

Directions: Think about your plans for after high school; do they include the military, vocational school, college or community college, or the
work force? Choose your intended path below and complete the writing assignments that go with it.
Requirements: Each post-high school plan portfolio must include four pieces of writing. Assignments with a * next to the title are mandatory.
How to Submit: Your final work will be submitted in hard copy and digitally at the end of the semester. You will also submit all drafts, editing
check lists, planning and organizers, etc. You will receive special instructions later on how to submit your assignments. For now, all work will
be kept in the writing section of your binder.
