ThroughouttheUnitedStateshistoricalpresencecontroversyhasbeenprovokedbya
simpleissuecollegeistooexpensive.Thisissuehasbroughtgreatattentiontotheeducational
systeminAmerica.Americahasbeenknownforitsmoneyhungrywaysandlustandthisprime
characteristicisdisplayedinthecountrysadvancededucationalsystem.Asignificantcensusof
studentsarerequiringtotakeoutloansresultinginaprolongeddebtstraightoutofcollege.
Somemightarguethatprovingafreeeducationalexperiencedirectedtowardscollegewouldbe
tooexpensive,thoughasoundcountertothisclaimwouldsuggestthereareplentyofstrategies
thatcanbecarriedoutinordertomakethisclaiminsignificantsuchasevaluatingoldprograms
andrevampingthemaswellasproposinganadditionaltaxrevenue.Providinganeducationfree
ofchargewouldnotonlybenefitthestudents,ratheritwouldbenefitthenationasawhole..
IfwecompareourtaxstructuretoSweden,youwillfindthatwefallbehindeventhough
theyareallowingafreeeducationshowingthatfreeeducationisfinanciallyplausible.Notonly
dowerequireourcitizenstopayforcollege,buttheamountrequiredtoattendcollegeissohigh
thatthemajorityofcollegestudentsareindeepdebtandwontbreakoutforyears.Whenpeople
arguethatmakingcollegefreeistooexpensive,theyaresimplybeingignoranttothefactthat
thereareavariousamountofwaystogetthatmoneyback.Forone,endingthewaronmedicinal
marijuanainallstatesandtaxingthesubstanceasonewouldtaxalcohol.WhenColoradoputthe

taxrate(28%)onmedicalmarijuanatheyreceivedapproximately$53millionintaxrevenue.
ThatcalculatedrevenuewassolelycalculatedforthemoneyofJanuary.Thisgoestoshowthe
marketfordifferencecategoricalstrategiestowardsmakingupthatlostrevenueoffofcolleges

wouldtaketomakecollegefreebutconsideringthatthisisjustonesubstanceandnegatingthe
factorssuchashowthesubstancewouldbemorewidelyknownandhaveamainstreamappeal
breakingnewnumericalmaximums.Nowletstakealookatamoredrasticandwidespread
issuethatcanbesuppressedandaddintothecalculationWelfare.Accordingtoastudy
conductedbytheUCBerkeleyLaborCenter,theWelfareprogramcostsAmericaan
approximatedvalueofanastonishing$152.8billionannually.Thatvaluesimplyputsthecostof
makingcollegefree($62.6billion)toshame.Ifweweretosystematicallyrestructureour
Welfareprograminamoreefficientmanner,wecouldattheveryleastshaveathird(est.$50
billion)ofthatamountoffconsideringthattheplancanverywellusearevamp.Asignificant
percentageofthefundsthegovernmentfinancesisbeingusedtofeedaddictionswhileabusing

theprogramsintentions.Withthesenewavailablefundsweareabletousethemtowardsafree
college.
Allowingstudentstoattendcollegefreeoftutionalchargewouldnotonlybenefitthe
studentsbutitwouldactasaslopeeffect,benefitingparentsinawaythatincreasestheir
financialavailabilityaswellasmakingourcountryssocialclassfinanciallyandeconomically
stable.Thisfreshlyopportunededucationwillalsoallowagreateradvancementinallofour
fieldsinresultofthegreaterpercentageofcitizensbeingabletoattendcollege.Thisgreater
numberofpeoplesigningupforcollegewillalsocreatemoreoccupationsandcareersfurther
advancingourcountryseconomy.Thiswillalsobalanceoutallofthesocialclassesbringingthe
lowerclassestoamutualequilibriumwithboththemiddleandevenavariousamountofupper
classmen.Seeingthatthefinancialissueshavealreadybeendealtwith,therereallyisntany
logicalreasononwhyweshouldntpushforanupperleveleducationfreeofcharge.IfHigh
Schoolisbeingfundedbythegovernment(citizenstaxes),andbothHighSchoolandCollegeare
aformofeducation,thentheonlydifferencebetweenthetwoisthatoneisfreeandtheother
requirespayment.
Afreecollegeofcourseshouldbemetwithstandardssuchasapreexistingadequate
levelGPAaswellasmaintainingasubstantialGPAthroughoutallofyourclassificationsin
College.Studentsshouldbehighadministeredandevaluatedthroughouttheirindividual
experiencesinCollegeandifanyoftheFederalregulationsarenotmetbythatparticularstudent
thenactionsshouldbetakenaccordingly.Educationisaprimeresultfromhowourspecieshas
evolvedthroughoutthecenturiesandshouldnotbetakenlightly.Educationshouldbeputabove
allothertopicsandprioritizedaccordingly.Ascitizensofthiscountryweshouldntberestricted

tooursocialclassandheldbackfromanopportunitytoadvanceourindividualmentality.Our
knowledgeandplaceinoursocialclassshouldntberestrictedjustbecauseofonesfinancial
background.Ifadvancementineducationresultedintheevolutioninweaponrywouldyouwant
aswordoragun?Ofcourseyouwouldchoosethemoreadvancedweaponry,thisadvancement
intechnologyisaprimeeffectfromthepowerinwhicheducationcontains.Whywouldwedeny
ourselvestheopportunitytosurpassourcompetitorsandenemiesinpowerifknowledgeisin
factpower?Theanswerisofcourseyoudontwanttodenyyourselfthatopportunity,youwould
takeadvantageofthatopportunityandrunwithit.Whichiswhatweshoulddowhenproposed
withtheabilitytoincreasethisnation'sknowledgewithaCollegeeducationfreeofcharge.
Whengivenrawfactswithastatisticalbreakdownincomparisontoopposingissuesyou
willnoticethatfeelingofenlightenmentpromptoflogistics.Ourcountryisfinanciallyviableto
modifytheprerequisitesinordertoattendCollege.Alongwiththefinancialviabilitythepros
greatlyoutweightheconsinthistopic.ThesolutiontoaninexpensiveCollegeisfairlysimple
andstraightforwardlogistically.Weighingthebenefitsandconsequencesofthisproposalitis
easytocomprehendthesolidityoftheproposal.Soifthefundsareviable,thebenefitsareof
greatsignificancewhyhaventwethepeopleproposedthissooner?
