6. What is the current status of the project?

Please describe the work done so far on your

project and what results has the project received to date?
Currently the project has been compartmentalized and been pursued in parallel with respect to the
following:
1. Research
The viability of proposed technology for ionizing the air through frictions is being evaluated.
The product is at Experimental design stage where in we are changing the preconditions so
that extent of the use is known which directly reflects the scalability.
2. Raw material Procurement
The base material of the product is the air filter paper. We have contacted vendors across
India enquiring and also learning the standards of filter paper industry. The received samples
of filter paper would go through testing.
3. Manufacturing Process
Pleating is a major process in air filter manufacturing. Vendors are being contacted for
procuring pleating machine; we are also exploring the possibilities of procuring pre-pleated
paper so that we dont incur overheads of a pleating machine altogether. The machine
required for pleating plastic protective net is been developed in-house.
4. Certifications

As a product is an automobile component it needs certifications and

testing from government authorities. ISO 5011 and SAEJ726 are two basic
filtration norms to be satisfied by the product. Weve identified and
contacted testing agencies such as Auto Cluster Development and
Research Institute and ARAI Pune for further validation process. Awaiting
for reply.

5. Prototype testing

Until rest of the process fall through we are working with the resources
available in hand to test handmade prototypes on the personal vehicles.
These tests are well documented and are showing promising results.
