Evacuation and crisis management

1-3 July 2015 at the University of Strathclyde, Henry Dyer Building, Glasgow, UK
For professionals that belong to different sectors in the multimodal transport chain and for
post-graduate students, this three-day course will focus on principles of IMO Guidelines for a
Simplified Evacuation Analysis for New and Existing Passenger Ships, crisis management
operations and an overview of International Ship and Port Facility Code (ISPS). Participants
will also participate in tutorials within Henry Dyer Computer Lab focusing on advanced
evacuation analysis software tools.
Learning objectives:

Understanding the basic principles of


IMOs evacuation guidelines.
Introduction to evacuation software
simulation tools.
Study of an evacuation analysis plan
of a RoPax.
Develop an understanding on crisis
management operations, including
the controlling of passengers and
other personnel during a crisis.
Understanding the fundamentals of
ISPS Code.
