SELF EXAMINATION
1 - What is the engine bleed air source when engine is at normal speed ?
A - High Pressure stage of engine compressor.
B - Intermediate Pressure stage of engine compressor.
C - Engine fan.
2 - When is the PRV automatically controlled to close by the BMC ?
A - In case of bleed airflow unbalance between adjacent engines.
B - When upstream pressure is not sufficient to open the valve.
C - In case of fault in the system or start of corresponding engine or APU bleed supply.
3 - What is the Fan Air Valve (FAV) function ?
A - It modulates the cold airflow provided to the precooler for bleed air temperature regulation.
B - It prevents an asymmetric bleed air supply between adjacent engines.
C - It fully opens or fully closes, depending on users configuration.
4 - What is the purpose of IP / HP switching ?
A - To regulate the output pressure, depending on Fan Air Valve position.
B - To keep air bleed with sufficient pressure at low engine speed.
C - To regulate the output temperature, depending on users configuration.
5 - What is the purpose of the ThS ?
A - To send a pneumatic signal to the OPV, in case of overpressure.
B - To send an electrical signal to the HPV, for IP/HP switching.
C - To send a pneumatic signal to regulate or shut off the PRV.
6 - What is the purpose of the ThC ?
A - To send a pneumatic signal to control the FAV.
B - To send a pneumatic signal to the OPV in case of overpressure.
C - To send a pneumatic signal to control thc PRV.
7 - Why does the APU Bleed Valve not open when a LH wing or pylon 1 or pylon 2 leak occurs ?
A - Because the Crossbleed Valve is open.
B - In order to protect the surrounding area.
C - In order to protect the Right Hand bleed system.
8 - Why arc there two electrical motors on the Crossbleed Valve ?
A - One for the opening, one for the closing.
B - One for electrical mode, one for pneumatic mode.
C - One for manual mode, one for automatic mode.
9 - Which pneumatic ducts are monitored by a double loop detection system 7
A - APU.
B - Pylons.
C - Wings.
10 - What happens if BMC 2 is lost ?
A - Pylon 2 and APU leak detections arc lost.
B - Pylon 2 and left wing leak detections arc lost.
