Biography
For those of you who may be wondering who Jennifer Lopez also known as J.Lo this is
for you. For starters her full name is Jennifer Lynn Lopez and she has two sisters Lynda and
Leslie Lopez. Jennifer was born on July 24, 1970 in Bronx, New York, to her Puerto Rican
parents, David and Guadalupe Lopez. She was raised in a house with two sisters named Leslie
and Lynda. She received her education at a private Catholic school. Through her years of
schooling, Jennifer also took many dance classes. These classes are where she developed the
dancing skills that would later carry her to stardom. Jennifer worked hard to put herself through
dance school and eventually gained fame with her dancing skills. Jennifer began her dancing
career as a "Fly Girl" on the comedy television series In Living Color which was produced by the
Damen Brothers. After her time on this show, she was given a contract to tour with Janet Jackson
as a dancer and even sang backup vocals for her. Jennifer's musical career began to take off when
she released her debut album "On the 6". The album went platinum within two weeks thanks to
the hit single "If You Had My Love". Her next album "J.Lo" reached number one on the pop
charts. On Jennifer Lopezs sixth studio album in 2007 called Brave she performs in both
Spanish and English languages. Along with that J.Lo has had hits on her last two albums
Love? and A.K.A. like On the Floor and First Love. Her albums have sold over 40
million copies worldwide. Her appearances on "In Living Color" opened doors for her to get

small acting parts in other television shows and series. Her first feature film was Mi Familia in
1995.Her big breakthrough role was the starring role in Selena, made in 1997. It is about a
Spanish singer and her rise to stardom and eventual demise. For her work in this film, Jennifer
earned widespread praise and a Golden Globe nomination. She starred in many more movies
including Monster-in-law and Maid in Manhattan. Not all of her movies were successful. For
example Gilgi and Angel Eyes failed at the box office. She has also tried her hand at producing
with a thriller called Bordertown in which she starred beside Antonio Banderas. Since Then
Jennifer has starred in Movies like What to Expect When Your Expecting and most recently
produce a crime television show called Shades of Blue that she stars in. Jennifer has launched
both fragrance and fashion lines. Her fashion lines Jlo, Sweetface and Justsweet have
discontinued production after many years and label changes. However, her company has
launched a reformatted collection sold at Kohls. Her fragrance line is doing well and still
available in stores and on television sales channels like Home Shopping Network. Over her
many years of fame, Jennifer Lopez has contributed too many public service and charity cases.
She has taken part in Amnesty International, ALAS, Childrens Health Fund, Childrens Hospital
Los Angeles, DKMS, Los Angeles Free Clinic, Love Our Children USA and MusiCares. In
2007, Jennifer Lopez made a movie called Bordertown to raise awareness about women who
were being killed in Juarez, Mexico. She received an award at the Berlin Film Festival for her
work as both star and producer of this film. Over 400 women were killed needlessly and the
investigations into these murders were sloppy and delayed. Jennifer Lopez stepped in and spread
awareness about this tragedy with her movie as well a song inspired by the victims, a bilingual
website called Amnesty International which includes reports, documentary footage, testimonials,
online chats and contact information. Childrens Health Fund was founded in the late 1980s, this

is a mobile van program that gives health services and education to underserved children in
disadvantaged rural and urban communities. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are both very
involved with this organization and make appearances to raise awareness for the cause. The big
picture that is learned from all of this information is that Jennifer Lopez is a woman of many
talents. Jennifer Lopez is an innovator because of what she does and how she uses what she does
to help others in every aspect of being a human who love to help other humans.
