Introduction:
Inthefuture,ifclimatechangedoesnotstoptheseacouldriseanywherebetween2.55
feetby2100,causingmillionsofpeoplelivingincoastalcitiestomove.Therisingsealevel
couldcauseerosion,floodingoffarmingland,andlossofhabitatformanyanimals.
Climatechangeisveryimportantfortheglobalcommunitytoaddresssince1880,the
temperaturehasrisen1.4Fdegrees.Withthechangeinthetemperature,weatherhasbecome
moreextreme,andiscontributingtocoastalflooding.

NationalActions:
ClimatechangehasaffectedDenmarkinmanyofthewaysithasaffectedtherestofthe
world.Thetemperaturehasrisen1.5Csincetheendofthe19thcentury.Precipitationhasrisen
by15%sincerecordsbeganin1874.However,Denmarkhasbeguntotakeonelargesteptotry
fixthechangeshappeningintheclimate.Denmarkisplanningtobecompletelyindependent
fromfossilfuelsby2050.Todoso,thecountrywillproducethemajorityofitspowerfrom
windandbiomass.Atthemoment,Denmarkproduces40%ofitspowerfromthewind,andby
2050halfofitspowerwillbegeneratedfromthewind.Therestoftheenergywillbeproduced
bysolarandwaste.

InternationalActions:
Climatechangehasbeenrecognizedgloballyfordecades,althoughsomecountrieshave
disputedthecauses.Asaresult,theUnitedNationsFederationofClimateChangeControland
theKyotoProtocolweredeveloped.TheKyotoprotocol,initsearlystageswasanagreement
linkedwiththeUNFCCCtoreducegreenhousegasses.ThisstageoftheKyotoprotocollasted
from19972012.ThentheDohaAmendmentwasadoptedtoextendtheKyotoprotocolandwill
lastfrom20132020.
Recommendations:
Aboveallelse,Denmarksuggeststhattherestoftheworldfollowourlead.Denmarkcan
offersupportinimplementingmanyofthethingswealreadyhave.TakeChinaforexample.Itis
theworld'sbiggestemitterofgreenhousegases.Iftheycutbackonconsumptionsoffossilfuels
by50%by2050andusemorealternativesourcesofpower,theycouldmakeabigdifference.
DenmarkwouldstronglysuggestthattheUNimplementapolicyrequiringallcountriestomake
anattempttoimplementgreenliving,withaUNappointedrepresentativetocheckinon
advancements,annually.
