This research is to compare (and contrast) guidelines on school safety and dynamic
response mainly focused on intruders. This year Darby staff announced a few new safety
protocols in case of any potential threats. This made me think about other schools around the
U.S. and their safety guidelines. Below will be information on the opinions on said schools rules
as well as information given by staff and opinions from students parents.
For my student apparatus, there will be quotes from some country region by students
mentioning their schools safety program. These quotes will be in regards to the proficiency as
well as needs of improvement. There will also be mentions of any protocols that may be
opinionated ver excessive depending on the city/neighborhood located in.

For staff apparatus, there will be information on any training or knowledge based around
emergency response. This data, however, will not only be given from average school staff but
city peacekeepers as well. These fragments of information will also be more general to
emergency response rather than just intrusions. For example, police officers/security guards will
give information in security and school defense as teachers and other staff will talk about other
emergency actions (fire, tornado, etc).
For my community apparatus, I will research the opinions of students parents. They may
be both of suburban and urban school districts. These parents will talk about any safety rules they
might think is too strict or too invading of their childs privacy. They will also compare their
students safety rules with their own from their high school career.
Through Internet research and sources of information given by city schools and police
departments, I will compare different school district safety protocols. I will then compare modern
schools to schools in the past. Lastly, I will find the best safety guidelines most appropriate to its
city. Hopefully, this assortment of information will not only display good models of safety in the
classroom, but help better equip other schools in the future for any possible disasters that may
occur.
